Interesting viewpoint on kneeling during the anthem

At a high school football team last weekend one of the football players was behind me in line at the snack bar and made an interesting comment.... He said "They are sending us mixed messages... We kneel when there is an injured player on the field out of respect, but kneeling during the anthem is disrespectful.".

Think about it for a moment.

Nothing to do with kneeling. Not standing at attention during the anthem is disrespectful.

The disrespect angle is a smoke screen and a bucket of shit.

The "disrespected people" are upset that Blacks are protesting police brutality; simple as that.

If Black players waited until the game was over and held up a sign outside the stadium about
police brutality then the same people would bitch moan and whine about that.

The national anthem was derived from our battle for Independence against the British crown. So when you kneel to the national anthem, you are kneeling to the crown.

When you are against someone expressing their constitutional right, you are also kneeling to the crown!

When a president is against someone expressing their rights, wraps it around patriotism, and you agree with him, then you are kneeling to a tyrant

I disagree. Kneeling is a sign of respect. We kneel in church; Men kneel when they propose to a woman. This is why high school football players and cheerleaders kneel when there is an injured player on the field. When you kneel during the national anthem, you are showing respect. Please do not tell me when you kneel you are showing respect to "the crown" - That's like saying when a man kneel when proposing to a woman he is showing respect to his last girlfriend.

Not knowing history or how the anthem came about is disrespectful. The anthem has nothing to do with our battle for independence, which btw started from people protesting the unfair treatment and taxes from the crown. hmmm, imagine that.

The anthem came from a poem written about the battle at Fort McHenry during the war of 1812 and how the flag flew high during the defense and victory.

Considering the poem/anthem has a verse about no one saving slaves except their grave, followed up with the land of the free and home of the brave, can anyone with a rational mind really expect the decedents of said slaves to really stand and respect the song?

But I digress, as the current protests are not aimed at the flag, the anthem or the military, but instead aimed at this country's long history of police brutality.

So it is history like Confederwte flags so no big deal at all.

There is a lone in the national anthem about how the British gave freeedom to slaves who fought on their side. The national anthem was pro slavery just a FYI.

The almighty dollar has caused more bloodshed and heartache than anything else. Money is the root of all evil. Burn all your money. Give it all away.

You won't do it because you're a fake plastic puppet. You're nothing but a brainless sheep being led to slaughter. You're illogical and full of contempt.

If you eat at my dinner table you take off your fucking hat. That is respect. I don't give a fuck what you're protesting. It's dinner time.

Think about what?

I'm sure I can find a quote from another high school player who supports and understands what the players are doing

Shit I could make up a quote like many do in order to support their bullshit

The Star Spangled Banner

Oh, say! can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming;
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there:
Oh, say! does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In fully glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution!
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:

And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust":
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Here's the latest one.

Cop shot a black teenage male for reaching. He was supposedly going for his cellphone to call his mom. The SJW libtards will say that is not justified.

Thing is, this thug was found to have a gun in his pants. That's what he was going for. The cop "showing restraint" and not shooting him may have gotten the cop killed here.
