Merchant Account Help

Many of us Webmasters are getting pretty beat up with these 3rd party billers.

The past couple of days I have been noticing I am also getting over charged. Not going to rant about the company yet, as I emailed them a couple of days ago. But, you can be certain you will hear about them if I do not get a satisfactory answer, if at all...

But thats not what this post is about.

If you offer merchant services, we need your help. But, instead of your normal sales pitch, why dont you break it down completely for us who may be interested.

What fees and startup costs are involved including Visa and MC deposits if any.

What Monthly fees do you charge? Hidden fees?

What is your rate break down.

What are the qualifiers needed to get started? Is it by volume or is it by years in business or both?

If you have volume or time requirements, do you have any programs available for new startups. If so, details please.

Do you offer Global, Just US?

How are charge-backs handled?

What integration software do you offer if any?

I think this would be a good chance for you to grab some business and possibly help us out since most of us are getting raped with fees.

Hey there,

if you are tired of third party billers, OrbitalPay can help.

We are a direct ISO for a bank which means we sell at the banks rates.
We offer a one stop shop with our own gateway and customer service,
and our platform integrates with NATS for your affiliate programs.
We offer US and Euro solutions.

If you want it simplified no bullshit, we can help you out, and I'm always happy to walk you through my pricing and explain everything you are paying for. No hidden fees.

To answer your questions:

1) For adult high risk there is a mandatory fee of 1000$, most direct billers charge this cause it is the exact fee that MC and Visa charge us we take no margin just pass through but there are ways around it, and it doesn't apply to retail or secondary products.
Only adult intangible material is affected by this fee.

2) No hidden fees.

3) Send me an email for a rate breakdown.

4) Depends on the volume you intend to process for.

5) Monthly minimum is 25$ for US and 50 000$ for Euro.

6) Charge-backs have a penalty fee like most places, but we do like to help you get a CB reduction plan to keep you up and running.

Plus on average we cut into your revenues by about 60% less then third party billers.

Hit me up and I'll definitely work hard for you. Feel free to contact me on Skype or by email.

Hi,

One thing you have to understand is that no one can give you the fee breakdown until you've been approved.

Only low risk retail companies have the same discount rates & even there it will depend on volume. High risk never does, & the fees are dependent upon your company, if you have previous processing, etc.

Yes the volume matters to the bank, but if you were a startup with a good amount of savings in your personal account & good credit, that matters too.

Any agent that gives you fees without first asking you for a lot of paperwork & has first sent it to their processors is someone I would be leary of. It's unfortunate that there are a lot of fly by nights in this industry or they have been in the industry for years, but still don't know what they are doing.

I personally don't like to take on companies that are doing less than $5-10k per month, closer to $10k.

As for what you need to get started, you need a site that is ready & it does help if you have previous processing (clean that is), but even if you are a startup I may be able to help you.

I deal with overseas companies as well. There are a few countries we won't deal with such as Iraq, etc.

I also have another partner who helps curb chargebacks if you need that service. This is VERY important.

As for the gateway software, some processors will want you to use theirs, others will let you use your own. Again, it all depends on the processor, how clean your account is, etc.

I hope this has helped you in some way. If you want to see what I can do for you, please pass me your e-mail address & I'll send you my pre-app.

Serious replies only.

Thank you

Michelle

This is absolutely true. However if you work with direct ISO we can give you a full breakdown of our fees as we are not an agent. We work closely with agents who help us reach a larger scale of clients, but agents are middlemen.

It's very important to understand that any numbers that anyone gives you are only going to be rough guidelines. Nobody can give you exact numbers, if they say they can, they are lying. There are far too many variables involved.

With that said, best of luck. There are quite a few options available to you and it is the smart route to go if you have the cash to get you rolling. I have set up merchant accounts for quite a few clients/friends and they all have reported back higher sales and higher earnings, plus more control of course.

I have a few myself. Lots of work, but worth every penny.

He is correct, as an ISO he can give you rates right away, but I'd still say he needs to vet you just like we would.

Also, an agent has several different options available to you, not just one. We are constantly adding more processors partnerships.

No matter your decision, I hope you prosper with your business

Basically what you should understand is that there are three levels of providers:

1) ISO: Independent Sales Organization: is a company working for the bank usually on contract hired to expand there reach when there sales force is to small or territory limited.

2) Agents: Usually resellers for third party billers or ISO's. They will be able to offer you multiple solutions but always charge a middle man rate.

3) Third party billers: Usually have there own account with the bank and are processing for you through themselves. This is why they charge higher because they assume the liability which gives them more flexibility for approvals, but they also take most of the control.

Options 1 and 3 should be what you are looking for based on your comfort with the control and the liability of your processing.

OrbitalPay is 1 and Epoch is 3

Hello wslover317

I completely understand what you are saying and where your confusion and headaches come from. This is exactly why SecurionPay has been created to solve these problems once for good. These questions and doubts have been brought by many throughout years already.

A. Our fees for high risk (you can find all the fees listed under https://securionpay.com/pricing

- registration fee with Card Association - 500 euros once per year

- processing fee 4.9% to start with. We can go all the way down depending on your monthly volume

- transaction fee/refund fee - 0.35 euros per transaction

- chb fee - 25 euros

- reserve from 5 to 10% depending on your performance and ratios

- no monthly fees, no hidden fees, no additional fees, no bank fees with a regular set up.

Clean, straightforward and transparent.

For mainstream businesses we offer 2.95% and 0.25 euros.

B: To start with us you need:

- register here https://securionpay.com/register and you have full access to everything and you can perform integration without wasting any time (this environment is exactly how the real one looks like and you can move all to "live" with one click

- you can integrate our platform in any programming language you want. This is the link for your developers: https://github.com/securionpay/

- We require EU entity at this point and we can help to establish one. US set up will come soon. List of documents you can find under our FAQ section on the website (also APIs documentation and everything you may ever need to integrate - as simple as that).

- Integration is a matter of hours not days or weeks!

- You can chose the way to integrate you want. The system will cope with any possible requirements from your side. You have full flexibility and you can adjust and create everything precisely for your business model including any payment model/scenario/structure.

C. No minimum monthly volume required. Start-ups are more than welcome. Our tech support team can guide anyone through the integration; they will check if all is done properly and give you additional tips on how to utilise the platform to its maximum. The UI is very good! We have never had problems to integrate anyone.

D. You can process globally with us more than 120 currencies and we can settle in around 20. Weekly payment - get paid what you processed last week the following week.

E. CHBs - we offer our Adjustable Fraud Prevention Suit, extended blacklisting and automatic chbs representments. Alerting system and scoring mechanise will give you additional info about every transition. We also identify fraud before it turns into a chb and give you time to refund/cancel the transaction manually or in automatic way.

F. Integration software - full API documentation is listed here: https://securionpay.com/docs

I hope these answers give you a little bit of an idea how differently we do things in comparison to what you have been experiencing so far.

If you are familiar with Stripe, i think you should know what kind of solution you may be getting from us :-).

Feel free to contact me at anytime with further questions.

On your site I see a Verotel logo, and from their site, their rates start at 15.5%. When choosing a processor, like Mobius Payments, offering you a direct merchant account, you?ll immediately make more money by lower rates and higher positive authorizations. I would suggest a processor you can have an open dialogue with and dedicated manager you can dialogue with. We at Mobius Payments will work with you to see your business grow.

To answer your questions:

1 What fees and startup costs are involved including Visa and MC deposits if any?
◦ There is a High Risk Registration fee from Visa and Mastercard.
That Registration fee is $500 each.

2 What Monthly fees do you charge? Hidden fees?
◦ No Hidden Fees, everything is outlined on the Merchant agreement.
▪ A monthly fee for your Merchant account
▪ A Cost per Transaction
▪ A daily batch fee
▪ A visa master card authorization fee
▪ An AVS fee(Address Verification System)
▪ A PCI compliance fee.
▪ A chargeback fee based on occurrence.
▪ All of these are nominal when you compare the overall rate of a 3rd party aggregator.

We have saved merchants over half of their processing costs

3 What is your rate breakdown?
Our rates are based on each businesses individual merits.
◦ How long you?ve been in business
◦ How much volume you do
◦ Your chargeback rate

We are continually one of the lowest cost providers in industry.

4 What are the qualifiers needed to get started? Is it by volume or is it by years in business or both?
◦ We work with new and existing businesses and will review each on their own merits.

5 If you have volume or time requirements, do you have any programs available for new startups. If so, details please.
◦ No specific volume and time requirements
◦ Yes we do have programs for new businesses. Those are based on each individual business.

6 Do you offer Global or just US?
◦ Mobius Payments is a Global Processor.

7 How are chargebacks handled?
◦ Chargebacks can be handled completely in house or directly by the Merchant.

8 What Integration software do you offer if any?
◦ Here is a link to our current list of integrations for shopping carts and platforms: Mobius Payments | Shopping Cart Plugins - Mobius Payments

You state over charging was the issue that spawned this thread. Id be more than happy to take a look at you statements of concern and provide you with a proposal outlining what your business would look like partnering with Mobius Payments.

If you have any additional questions please reach out.
Im here to help.

WSlovers317 and others interested,

We have been serving the industry since 1998, and are the largest direct merchant account, gateway and call center provider in this industry. We employ you to get rates from others and then bring us your best deal. We will work with you to bet those rates and even more so, show you the many money making tools that we offer to increase your profits.

Feel free to meet with us at the upcoming Phoenix Forum, CNPexpo in Orlando and Xbiz Miami as well. Shall we setup a call or face to face meeting at one of the shows?

Looking forward to your reply. - Mitch

Does NetBilling have an ETA for when it will update its Control CGI to work with HTTPS-only sites? We tried to test out HTTPS-only, but ran into issues with NetBilling. Your tech support staff said it's on the 'development roadmap' (his words from earlier this month). The sooner this happens, the better since we're now in an era where it's not 'if', but 'when' one needs to convert a site to HTTPS. This is an issue that I feel NB should prioritize if it wishes to remain at the forefront in the billing industry.

Mobius and Orbital are both awesome gateways/iso's with wicked merchant and tech support.

Hello Michelle, In fact I mailed you that day. I guess it ended up in your spam box. Since I didn't hear from anyone other than Matt, I thought the answer is NO. Guess I was wrong.

Thanks for your kind words. It is really uplifting. My current customer is somewhat difficult so I am emailing everyone actually. I am not sure who can handle his business.

Mitch, I contacted your business through the 'sales' email ID but received no response yet. Now I am taking the liberty to email you straight. Please look into my problem and let me know if you can offer me a solution.

Sorry to bumping old thread...but i have related question about merchant account setup. What payment gateway do you will recommended for website, selling revenge gifts for ex-girlfriend, boyfriend, etc.

Example sites: getrevengeonyourex.com, mastersofrevenge.com, boxedrevenge.com, etc. Some of examples above are with worldpay.com. I will get in touch with him tomorrow but if i have 2-3 alternatives will be nice.

Site is banned from PayPal for life and this payment processor is not an option.

I've been researching merchant accounts for a mainstream site. I can't remember who my processor was so I'm looking for a new one. I'll hit up the offers here and see. I'll probably add PayPal but want more options. It's great to see high-risk being allowed again.

I just wanted to add an update here as I hate finding threads and no solution is ever given. This may help some of you, not only those looking for a merchant account, but issuers and billers themselves.

I sent a detailed (This is important) email to about 5 people in this thread who answered saying you could help with a merchant account. And of that 5, I got 4 replies.

Of those 4 replies, only 1 of them bothered to read the email which I had thought out thoroughly before sending. Every detail was included, my number of sites, type of sites, volume, years in business etc. Which I thought to include based on all of the feedback in this thread. Yet, many replied with "whats your volume, how long in business" etc... This is something that bugs me to no end, getting a question that was answered before it was asked. Makes you want to reply with your original email.

Another question I got back right away was "What do you want your rates to be" which immediately reminded me of a car salesman's famous "What do you want your monthly payments to be" ZERO! Thats my answer to car salesmen...

But I digress, I am not here to bash but here to say thank you to Mobius Matt. He read my email and simply wrote back "We can get you going, let me see what rates I can get you. I need this this this and this" Simple!

Just a bit of caution for those of you thinking of getting your own Merchant account; you will need to send a lot of info, which is understandable. The banks want to know what you might be thinking of naming your unborn child in 5 years and Visa / MC want to know if said child will be going to college.

So, after I sent Matt everything, he checked that we had our ducks in a row, which I needed some other things. He sent them over and we waited for the Bank to approve, Visa / MC to approve then boom, Merchant account at a great rate. All total, about 2.5 - 3 weeks from email to merchant account. He may have done more, I am not really sure as all I had to do was send him some forms, I.D. etc. He took care of EVERYTHING else.

I am now up and running, have almost everything fully integrated and couldn't be happier. Only thing I wish is that I could somehow force all members to switch their rebills over but, we all know thats not an easy chore.

Before you ask, I am not going to post what my rates are because as all have said above, they differ from company to company or in our case webmaster to webmaster. But let me say I am very happy with not only the rates, but having full control.

Some also may be wondering what integrations I am using with Mobius and I am simply using Amember Pro for membership sites, have been for years. Amember has Mobius built in so no coding needed. You will need the newest version of Amember however as this is a new integration for them.

For our download sites I am using Woocommerce with Mobius via Authorize.net emulator plugin. Pretty straight forward and my tests have all been great.

So, if any of you are thinking of getting a merchant account, I highly recommend Mobius Matt (He is in the thread above). And I am not going to be one of those guys who say "Get a merchant account, your being a fool" but I will simply say for me it is well worth it. Some of you may be happy where you are, so stick with what works for you. Only biller I ever had an issue with is Zombaio (Do a search)

Again, thank you Mobius Matt! Your professionalism is appreciated.

Great post wslover317, thanks for all that info. One of the things I'd be interested in more is what exactly does it take to get a merchant account so you can use someone like Mobius, NetBilling or Orbital? I mean, why do so many people just use CCBill, Epoch, etc. instead of getting their own account? There must be something very difficult about getting approved for MC/Visa, or maybe this is just a perception. Anyhow, giving more info on what the approval process is like, what kind of details they need, etc. would be much appreciated!

And a suggestion to the billing companies like Mobius, NetBilling, Orbital, etc.: why not put a step-by-step how to guide for getting a MC/Visa account for adult on your websites? Write it towards the typical CCBill, Epoch customer and try to show them how much better, easier it would be to use your service. I'll bet this would help you get some new customers!

It really is better to contact Matt from Mobius (Who helped me)
I am a client, not a service.

But basically, what I needed was bank statements, ids, 3 months of processing history with charge back reports, articles of incorporation, proof of residency and bank statements.

I think people go to 3rd party billers because they do not have processing history? I was using one at the start more because I didt realize it was just as easy to get a merchant account but again, some people like their 3rd party billers so, they stick with them.

I would imagine people use 3rd party for ease of use as well. Since a lot of them are just plug and play. However, the right gateway can have the same ease as I described above.
