I wonder if anyone on the board has a legit (like double opted in) webmaster mailer. That would be a nice donation, as a service, for someone to do a mailer offering the content at 20% off, 50% going to scrote, also SpaceAce's deal, 10$ off AVSWeasel, and $50 per copy going to scrote, and Mogul/Lloyds Lotto Starter.

anyone who would like to do this please contact me via my sig... ill start looking around, and if anyone can recommend a legit good adult webmaster mailer, lemme know, i will contact them.

Shit man, that sucks!!! I feel what you are going through.
My father had a stroke in 1994. His left arm and leg was paralyzed, and he lost his ablity to speak clearly. In 2002 he had started to have pian in his leg. His arteries were clogged, but it was too late. His leg was amputated. After operation my father had pain in his stomach. 3 days after operation on 30 December 2002 my father died. My father lived 5,000 miles from me, last time I saw him on January 10th 2002. I would love to help, but I'm more broke than your uUncle right now. But it is nice to see GFY people are helping you out in this sad moment

MikeySpermberg 01-16-2003 09:21 PM

It is definitely nice... i am very impressed with the generosity of all the people that have donated and the software developers and content providers that have stepped up to help. About $1000.00 of the funds have come from donations of $50 or less :)

Thanks for posting, and im sorry for your loss...

Another donation received from Webinc!! Thank you very much Todd!

Also Laura from http://www.trafficcashgold.com/ contacted me yesterday and is sending a check in the mail :thumbsup

And.....I have also received a donation from NastyJack...Thanks bud :)

MikeySpermberg 01-17-2003 06:49 PM

Scrote can you post the total now, or do you not know what the checks are?

Thanks so much to webinc, trafficcashgold and NastyJack :)

I got another $950 for the fund that i earned selling domains for my friend here:

http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...hreadid=100381

(im getting 10% for any domain i sell) but i wont have that money until it gets out of escrow, and the domain owner sends it to me ... so we cant wait for that for the 4500.00 to get started.

I emailed some webmaster mailer people, noone has replied yet :helpme

After lurking in this thread for a while i think you're pretty much telling the truth and i would like to help you out a little bit.

I'll provide 2 DVD licenses for the first two people to donate over $200 to you.

The two winners can pick just about any dvd from the list below and i will send out a DVD + License contract to use the DVD on their website.

http://www.dvdera.com/adult_studios/vxi_multimedia.html

Just let me know who the next two people to donate $200+ to your paypal account are.

It isnt much but hopefully it'll get another 400 to ya (or inspire some peole to donate)

Joe

MikeySpermberg 01-18-2003 09:10 AM

Hey notjoe ... we're most definitely telling the truth, send me an email if youd like for me to give you a call, or lets talk via email. If youve read through the thread, youll see that i am launching an exclusive video site soon, and for that reason i cant donate more than the $1k ive already donated. I have some more $ but i need to be careful considering the costs that will arise with the launch of my site.

Part of the reason i need to keep some cash is because i want to license some videos to supplement my own shot content. So if noone else bites on this offer, then i will. But im gonna go look at your site... i didnt know you licensed dvds ...

This is a great help by the way ... we are damn near close to the 4,500.00 we need to start the first 30 days of treatment, thanks to the generosity of everyone who has helped. I appreciate your taking the time to read through the thread to see its legit :)

Thanks a million,

By the way, anyone who sends a donation here:

http://users.qconline.com/~dramundson/

for 200 or more, please make a post about it, then notjoe can confirm it with mulescrote, and you can get your dvd and license...

:thumbsup

Drop me a line on ICQ and we'll work something out :) I remember when you hooked me up when i bought all of PC's content in one shot and i would be happy to repay the favor ;)

MikeySpermberg 01-18-2003 09:29 AM

Im cutting in premiere right now, ICQ completely fucks it up ... ive changed my sig to promote this deal, so hopefully someone will bite, but ill still get in touch with you about licensing some dvds ...

I didnt see anything about licensing them there on the site... are you the producer? Do you have a website where licenses can be purchased to dvds?

Thanks again, ill be in touch soon :)

dchottie 02-22-2003 05:09 PM

OK Mikey and Mule, first of all my thoughts are with your family right now Mule. Unfortunately my mother in law is going through a major breast cancer fight right now and it's not looking real good. We had to take everything we had to put into her fight against this monster and subsequently we have lost almost all of our tangibles (i.e. house, car, savings) so my money situation is not the best to help you out. However, if there is anything that I can do behind the scenes I will more than gladly help out. I have a couple of TGP's that are getting a respectible number of hits and will put either of these up for use if there is any way to utilize them to help raise some money. I'm kind of having a brain cloud about how to use them at the moment but this whole thread made everything here at home really raw. I know that the spam word sucks but I do have a good email database if there is any way to use it either. I mean spam for a good cause should be allowed. I also have my own server if there is any space needed for anything in connection. So just let me know what I can do.

Angie 02-22-2003 05:41 PM

I hope your uncle is better soon.........

why is MikeySpermberg now banned???

SpermbergMikey 02-23-2003 07:49 AM

Hi dchottie and Angie :)

dchottie, i hope everything works out for you, and my only advice is to use your available resources to help out your own family right now ...

"Spam for a good cause" ... that is why MikeySpermberg (me) is banned. I was selling domain names (for a friend) on this board and donating my 10% cut to the fundraiser. I neglected to notice that a previous thread had been closed since the moderators considered it to be spam, i opened a new thread to sell more of the domain names (i raised over $950 for the fund) and lensman banned me ... i have no problem with the policy; their board, their rules, but i think under the circumstances an email was warranted as opposed to a banning.

I have proven the legitimacy of this thread, beyond the shadow of a doubt in my opinion ... we have receipts, the doctors phone number is on there, and i have received character references from many webmasters here. Yet still some large players, like the ones who banned me from this board and ignored my emails asking for support, offer no help.

I sent a second email to lensman asking why he would not help with this thread ... his reply was simply "I'm busy"

Thats so lame. who isnt busy? ive been working 16 hours a day for 3 years. When i ran phoenixcontent i answered EVERY email i ever got. I would also venture to guess that THE HUN is a pretty busy guy, but he somehow found the time to reply to my email, rather than to delete it like lensman.

so, maybe they will delete this post and ban me again (my new acct). but if they have any nuts at all, they will unban me (my old acct)

HASTA LA VICTORIA SIEMPRE!!!!

Yes the breast pills sell very well!

Script Dude 02-23-2003 08:59 AM

Sorry to be Mr. Negativity, but...

I saw the Shaes thing develop. Some of the deals that they were offering seemed "Too good to be true" to me at the time. Sure enough.

I am EXTREMELY skeptical of these alternative treatments.

from Journal of the AMA :
Quote:

Based on exercise time to ischemia, exercise capacity, and quality of life measurements, there is no evidence to support a beneficial effect of chelation therapy in patients with ischemic heart disease, stable angina, and a positive treadmill test for ischemia
From American Heart Association Q&A about Chelation Therapy :

Quote:

Can chelation therapy be dangerous?

EDTA isn't totally safe as a drug. There's a real danger of kidney failure. (renal tubular necrosis). EDTA can also cause bone marrow depression, shock, low blood pressure (hypotension), convulsions, disturbances of regular heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmias), allergic-type reactions and respiratory arrest.***

In fact, a number of deaths in the United States have been linked with chelation therapy. Also, some people are on dialysis because of kidney failure caused, at least in part, by chelation therapy.
Be very careful. I wish you luck.

SpermbergMikey 02-23-2003 09:41 AM

Hey Script Dude, thanks for the wishes of best luck :)

The Shaes being theiving scumbags and chelation being an "alternative" treatment are two different ballfields. i dont see how they fit in to your comments.

I am fully aware of the information about chelation, as is mulescrote and his family; the simple fact as i understand it is, Ron is not able to respond to "conventional" treatment, and that this is the best option.

Will it work? i dont know. but i still sent over 2k so far... i hope it does something for my friends uncle, but if it doesnt, at the very least, i wont sit around wondering IF i could have helped the guy. And at least now he has some hope, where previously he was shopping for gravesites (literally)

SpermbergMikey 02-23-2003 10:09 AM

Nick!

MuleScrote just informed me of your donation... thank you SO much, that was very generous :thumbsup

MuleScrote 02-23-2003 10:12 AM

Thanks Script Dude...and as far as the validity of alternative medicine, I have done plenty of research on this one. Chelation is Ron's only hope for wellness at this stage in his condition. Near the very beginning of this thread, someone else tossed the quack watch pages into this. I'll quote my response here so I don't have to type it all out again:

I have done enough research to understand that chelation is loosely supported by the FDA. They will not give full support until the completion of a large-scale research project that the government has invested $30M dollars in that starts in March.

Your quack page was published in 2000 and the FDA currently states that no properly controlled research has been performed. The fact of the matter is that Ronnie's vascular disease is too far progressed for surgery. As it stands now, he is at high risk of stroke if his blood pressure rises too high.

Furthermore, if you look at many of the "research" that has been performed, they have consisted of giving subjects one or two treatments per week. Now I don't know what advancements, if any, have been made to these chemicals since 2000. But Ronnie will be staying at the clinic for 30 days straight receiving a 3 hr treatment every single day. After that, he will have 2 or 3 per week until treatment is completed.

I'm not gonna scrap this because the field may be split on this one. Surgery is not an option, and patients in his condition have shown excellent response to the chelation treatments. As I said in an earlier post, Ronnie's dad died due to complications following the surgical procedure to fix this same disease (which can follow genetic lines). Maybe the surgeons are the quacks? Nothing shows 100% success but the decision here was very easy for us all to make.

Thank you,
MS

On a better note, Ronnie called here yesterday and talked to my wife. He still breaks down in tears when he tries to express his gratitude for all that everyone is doing for him. Two weeks before I turned over a chunk of donations for treatment, he labored to walk from one side of his house to the other. Now he says his vision is clearing up, the tingling in his legs has gone away, and his ears no longer ring 24hs/day. Sounds to me like we are making a difference!!

True. So you look at the sources of the information and their motives. The journal of the American Medical Association and the American Heart Association are fairly credible sources.

The Journal of the American Medical Association article that I linked to would be considered "properly controlled research" and was published in 2002.

However, I would like to encourage maintaining a high level of skepticism.

I am curious about how your clinic has addressed the risks of death and kidney failure from this treatment as mentioned in the american heart association article.

keep us posted.

SpermbergMikey 02-24-2003 06:56 AM

I can try to understand where you are coming from scriptdude, if you had a family member that did not respond to alternative medicine. but in this case, for Ron Klein, this is his ONLY option. If i was dying and conventional medicine could not help me, i would be doing the same thing.

It is not my understanding that the family is being hornswaggled. I have NEVER heard any promises that Ron's chelation therapy is going to miraculously cure him... simply that it is his only chance at living to see his next birthday. I am generally a skeptic in life, but in this case im hoping that everything works out.

angeleyes 02-24-2003 07:46 AM

I'm new here and I don't know you, but if $20.00 will help I can "snail mail" a check. I've had a slew of my own medical issues but so far I've been lucky enough to have them covered by my health insurance so I know this can't be easy for you. I was walking on eggshells waiting to find out if my most recent surgery was covered or not. (It was).

ICQ me and give me the mailing details please. 246709948 I apologize if the address is somewhere on this thread... If it is--I missed it.

SpermbergMikey 02-24-2003 08:38 AM

Hi AngelEyes :)

Of course $20 helps. a LOT of the (approx) $5,000.00 that has been raised thus far has come from generous donations like yours ... i will look for scrote online tonight and tell him to give you the mailing address...

Scrote, can you also post the current total received, since the original goal was 10k?

Thanks :thumbsup

Not only didn't respond, but was harmed. I would like to tell my story, but it is complicated and would probably take me half a day to type up.

A couple lessons that I learned:

People faced with serious medical conditions (and their family members) aren't always able to make the best decisions regarding their situation.

There are also alot of people out there who will tell you anything you want to hear in exchange for your money.

Quote:

but in this case, for Ron Klein, this is his ONLY option.
is it the only option? The Help Ron Klein page only mentioned "his doctor." Have they gotten a second (or third) opinion?

from National Council Against Health Fraud Policy statement on chelation therapy:

Quote:

Proponents claim that chelation is effective against coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, autism, and many other serious medical problems. However:
  • No well-designed research has shown that chelation can help any of these conditions.
  • Several well-designed studies have yielded negative results.
  • Further use has no scientifically plausible rationale.
  • Using chelation instead of proven treatments (such as coronary bypass surgery) can have fatal consequences.

In 1998, the Federal Trade Commission secured a consent agreement barring the leading chelationist organization from falsely advertising that chelation therapy is effective against atherosclerosis or any other circulatory problem.

The National Council Against Health Fraud believes that chelation therapy is unethical and should be banned...

ScriptDude, i can only wait for mulescrote to reply to your comments. i believe what youre saying, im not trying to argue whether you are right or wrong. Im sorry your loved one was harmed, sincerely. and i know you dont mean this argumentatively rather informatively, and i appreciate that :)

Hi all,
I just spent 30 or so minutes reading and evaluating this thread, some great people have made really generous donations here. (so don't let that be in vain)

Is this thing still going on? If so, I wanna help Uncle Ron.

Gimme the paypal details so I can make a donation, I cried real tears when I read this thread, there's a lotta shite in this world, but this thread made me realise there's also so much good.

All you peeps that donated so far," feel good about yourselves "

What worries me is that Uncle Ron needed 10k, and we're only at 5 or so K.

Don't stop now guys he needs another 5k yet!

Keep bumpin this thread, there's alot of hardened gfy posters that haven't made a donation yet, where are you guys?

What goes round comes round guys, so spread some goodness, and reap the rewards. LOL

Like I said, post the paypal addy and I'll make a donation, maybe a few others will as well. :)

Thank you lustbin for your help! I am amazed by the resurgence of support for this thread. I didn't want people to think that this thread was my reason for being at GFY so I let the thread run it's natural course at let it fade when I felt the time was right.

Our original goal to cover expenses was, and still is, $10k. When I add lustbin's donation to the pot, the donation total stands at $5125.

I very much appreciate everyone's continued support!

Thanks for voicing your care and support. There is a Paypal link on the original information page that fully explains the situation.

That page is here: http://users.qconline.com/~dramundson/

As you can see in my post above, we have passed the halfway point in this fund raiser and much of it was with donations of $50 or less. Every donation gets us closer to my ultimate goal.

Thank you!! :thumbsup

MuleScrote 02-24-2003 08:30 PM

Response to script dude:

I do appreciate your skepticism. But as I have made clear in previous posts, Ronnie's personal doctor recommended these treatments stating that bypass surgery was not possible due to the amount of blockage in several arteries. His doctor also stressed that surgery would most likely end his life just like it did his father's a couple years ago.

He didn't order treatments from an infommercial or from a flyer on his windshield. His doctor is in no way tied to the clinic that administers the treatments. He has seen positive results in other patients suffering from similar conditions to Ronnie's.

Please read the information HERE and you will understand the severity of the issue.

Thanks for your input :)
