What data do you capture?

Have just been doing the email. I just started storing the subjects of the post also.

Yesterday (09/01/2010) there were 16,397 posts added to the casual encounters section for all US cities combined.

Yesterdays cl post counts for all us cities combined:

personals - men seeking men 18974
personals - casual encounters 16397
personals - men seeking women 4594
personals - rants and raves 4590
personals - women seeking men 1891
personals - missed connections 1751
personals - strictly platonic 1725
personals - women seek women 610
personals - misc romance 302

oh sorry, thought i saw an extra zero for some reason.

so If there was 16,000 posts and assuming this guy contacted everyone of those people, he is getting a 33% reply rate. but some of these people have to post on craigslist often so he would be getting the same emails a lot... even 5,500 seems high considering this info.

I have hooks into all the rss feeds grabbing data about every 5 minutes. Just went on line a couple of days ago. Yesterday should be pretty much a complete data set.

Like i say, I just put it on line a few days ago, have a little over a million posts archived so far.

Just to clarify. My counts are just of the stuff listed in the cl cities. It is not all of the US. I have about 45 locations culled from cl's lists on the front page. There are many areas I do not hook into.

Yesterday I pulled in over a half million posts from the list I created. If I wanted to expand it and get everything US I think I will need a much bigger box ;p

if you are only hitting 45 cities, your count sounds about right

its actually about 3 times as much as your number, a lot of subcites have just as many as main, ie. nashville

What are you using the data for? 3rd party search site that does not expire?

can you sort the list by gender? ill buy all of the female emails... much cheaper than going to the bar!
