You know what... if I didn't hate Laura Linny and Richard Gere so much 'Primal Fear' would have been on my list... just because Edward Norton (the most fabulous actor ever to grace the earth) is the supreme god of Hollywood.

FYI: Edward Norton, 33-years-old, speaks fluent Japanese, graduate of Yale, great voice, adorable yet handsome face, hot body (see: AMX), killer choice in roles... the perfect man.

That's an interesting numbering system you've got there.

Here's mine:
1. The Matrix
2. Pulp Fiction
3. The Shawshank Redemption
4. Memento
5. Fight Club

And just for kicks, here's 5 more:
1. Saving Private Ryan
2. Silence of the Lambs
3. Run Lola Run
4. Bound
5. Goodfellas

Ok, 5 more, but then I really must stop:
1. The Big Lebowski
2. American History X
3. Platoon
4. Reservoir Dogs
5. Seven

Oh, 5 more, but then I am done... seriously:
1. Schindler's List
2. Fargo
3. The Usual Suspects
4. Braveheart
5. A Few Good Men

I gotta say, the only thing I can fault you on is not being able to count, but that's the best list. Any "package" you put up there would win. I've never seen anybody else mention Run Lola Run, which is an awesome movie. First time I watched it was the original German vocal track and it's amazing how you can still understand the story without knowin what the hell they're saying.

Good job!:thumbsup

MEAN MACHINE?!?!?! Man you really are a fan of Vinny Jones! I agree with Lock STock and Snatch, both are excellent movies, but Mean Machines was just good, not the same caliber. It was a rental.

Althought Shawshank and Fight club are fantastic movies, gotta give you props for those ones! :winkwink:

I gotta admit, i'm a HUGE Vinney Jones fan. Way back from his Wimbledon days!

But it's not just him. Jason Statham's character is fantatic. And i love the two Bob commentators. Funny shit. And no, i don't think it's up there with Lock Stock and Snatch, but still one of my favourites.

Damn you can never give a top 5 unless it just happens to be five you seen more times....

Casino
Dances With Wolves
The Shining
English Patient
Stir Crazy

And....... HEAT for the amount they edited out "Henry Rollins" from the final movie. He gets about one line - in every other scene people are beating the shit outta him.

jimmyf 01-03-2003 10:15 AM

Bat21
A Bridge 2 Far
A Few Good Men
Silence Of The Lambs
The Matrix

Pornwolf 01-03-2003 10:24 AM

You guys really need to see Life Is Beautiful. I love most of the movies listed here in the thread but L-I-B absolutely kills them all. There's a reason Roberto Beningni(sp?) won the Academy Award for that movie. Schindlers list doesn't even compare. :2 cents:

I fucking LOVE those movies, The Beyond is a masterpiece, as most of Lucio Fulci´s work. Deeply underrated, misunderstood and bizarre.
And Dawn of The Dead is a classic, action packed zombie movie.

Excellent choices.

DX 01-03-2003 11:13 AM

Snatch
Seven
Fight Club

haggard 01-03-2003 11:18 AM

Hmmmm could you have some Italian blood by any chance? Let's see, Goodfellas, Casino and Brasco, all italian mob related. Ocean's eleven is about a heist. Armagedon is the only one I can't figure out. Ah wait, Liv Tyler right? :winkwink:

Morgan 01-03-2003 11:38 AM

shawshank redemption

Up in Smoke
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Fletch does Dallas
Goldmember
Dirty Harry
Killing Zoe
House on Haunted Hill (both versions)
Reservoir Dogs

:1orglaugh

Reminds me one day I was in line at the bank, and behind me is this chick starts talking to me, complaining... Michael Madsen's ex wife. He was in Europe filming Bond movie, and she was whining about his lateness of child support. I could tell she was pretty much some wild-kinda trashy hollywood type, and quite bitter.

But it was hilarious, I tried not to laugh too much... she kept making comments about his booze and drug issues. I had to bail out of there, it was like she would not fucking shut up and people were staring. :1orglaugh

Whats the movie about? My bestfriend is coming over tonight for a sleepover so maybe we'll rent it. It must be pretty darn good if Schindlers List doesn't compare.

Nysus 01-03-2003 11:43 AM

I must say that I enjoy most of the movies people listed. All fairly decent movies.

I can't until Matrix II comes out though, supposedly ground breaking animation in it.

Cheers,
Matt

JohnV 01-03-2003 12:00 PM

Snatch
Resevoir Dogs
Swingers
Goodfellas
Fletch
Lord of the Rings

There are some other really good ones, but these I can watch over and over and never get sick of them.

MattB 01-03-2003 12:31 PM

1. Billy Madison
2. Drunken Master (not the crappy edited us version)
3. Enter the Dragon
4. Tommy Boy
5. Fists of Legends

kung-foo movies made outside the US are so much better than anything made in the US.

SykkBoy 01-03-2003 01:01 PM

Hard to list a top 5 because they tend to shift depending upon my mood...but generally, my top 5 would be:

Glengarry Glen Ross
The Exorcist
Bad Taste
Gummo
Welcome To The Dollhouse

tara 01-03-2003 01:10 PM

I am definitely going with the following:

Goodfellas
Casino
Bronx Tale
The Sweatest Thing
Gladitor

and anything Robert Dinero does!!!!
