They can key in your address and look at the cars parked in front of your house, see anyone in the area, etc.

This is scary shit IMO.

The possibilities of it's unscrupulous use are endless.

And you believed her? :eek7

Well, I thought it was for real! I guess it must be just a map for tracking the police.

HELLO PEOPLE!!

Why do you think census is taking GPS coordinates for all USA addresses?

SO THEY CAN ADD THEM INTO THE DATABASES USED BY SATELLITES!!!

HELLO!! IS ANYBODY HOME!!!! :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I believe the cop she was riding with told her this, and I believe the cop actually believed it. They will believe anything if it feeds their power hungry ego.

I have to side with the - BS - side of this argument.

Having spent the majority of my adult life working in military satellite control centers, there is no way the military, or anyone with a satellite with the claimed capabilities, would dedicate the resources to a town of 53,000.

Simply put, we don't have the resources to watch all the places that are in the national interest to watch - let alone your driveway.

But go ahead and believe what you want if it makes you feel better.

Geostationary means over the same point, but a satellite could have a 24 hour orbit and not be in the same plane as the equator.

If they have 100s of low Earth satellites they could see anything pretty quick. Spy sats have been around for decades, complete coverage is a logical goal for secret service.

I made an offer for spysatellites.com last week, guy said he's developing and going to sell the images to search engines.

A long time ago I was on house @rrest, and the probation officer who put the ankle bracelet on me told me it was a GPS unit. I knew he was completely full of shit, because it was simply a little proximity beacon with a box that plugs into a land-line... but I had to wonder if that officer actually believed the shit he was telling me, or if his boss told him it was GPS.

Now and days they actually do have GPS ankle bracelets, but they're for people who are on parole, etc.

I'm pretty sure that's already been done... you can enter an address into Google Maps, which is geo based, and it will figure out where it is.

My own state (not in the USA) has property data available in digital format... every property is represented as a geolocated joined polygon.
