Nationalizing banks are a temporary compromise, we need to nationalize the banks to sell them off to PRIVATE entities after the toxic assets are dealt with. There is nothing socialist about that, that is simply damage control.

In fact, if they had let AIG fail, the whole economic system that we live in would be in geopardy right now, and this is a clear cut fact. They let the smallest investing bank fail and look at the fuss this has caused ? AIG is a much much bigger systemic risk.

What the fuck do you want them to do ? Let the whole monetary system/economy crash down and build from scratch ? That'd probably be the best option long term, but there would be riots on the street before we could start building again.
