Nice, I called at 12 sharp and have been on hold for 35+ minutes now...

My buddy calls up at 12:25, is on hold for 1 minute, and is transferred to reservations right away. Thankfully he let me know on ICQ and got me my room.

Was on hold first time for 14-15 minutes and then got dissconnected.
Called back, eventually got through (non toll free number). Said Hey I was on hold blah blah, got placed on hold and walla.

I called and got through and then was put on hold. I then pushed 0 and let it ring and a Jennifer picked up asking if she could take my name and # and that they would call back.

Re-dialing until I got the voice mail message saying all lines are busy, then hitting zero and having the operator put me on hold for reservations is how I got my room booked.

got someone now and she said hold for 5 min

hopeflly it is not the dreaded sold out message coming up[

what worked for you to get through? The 800 and letting it ring? I just got through to them and they said they were putting me on hold but I get no music/etc on hold so now I'm wondering if they cut me off.

I thought of staying on hold as an experiment to see if they'd ever pick up, since it's been 40 minutes, but then it occured to me that I should open up a hold slot so they can stick someone else in it. :1orglaugh

PK Used the 800 line then I got the recording saying to leave a message... wait all the way though that recording and then it says hit 0 to talk to someone right away. I did that and waited for 3 min. of phone rings and got a very nice lady named Vicky who took my reservation. She did say that the phones were blowing up over there.

There was no hold music, when I got cut off it gave me weird noises.

Thanks for the tip. That's what just worked for me and I'm booked.

I did ask the woman taking my reservation why the group code is invalid for online registering and she told me that those are only good for calling in and that they aren't taking any reservations online this year. How was THAT missed in the registration instructions??? :(

Yup almost instantly - both of them.

But I forgot the damn total after taxes, I need to add it to my checkbook register.

I called 6 times before the 11AM start time trying to get a room early. Each time I was politely and professionally told all rooms were locked until 11AM with no exceptions.

I then started calling at 11AM using one phone and made approximately 20 calls which went to either a busy signal, a hotel voicemail message saying that I could leave a message or an all circuits are busy message from the phone company.

I began calling with 3 phone lines at that point. Two for the 800 number and 1 for the local number with continued lack of success. I added a fourth line to balance out my calls, 2 autodials to the 800 number and 2 autodials to the local hotel number.

Seven different times I was connected to a PBX operator and told that all hold slots were busy, so I would have to call back. I was also told the PBX department of the hotel has a grand total of TWENTY hold slots and no ability to handle overflow beyond twenty callers.

After a total of approximately 916 calls (it was difficult to keep perfect count but it was within a few calls of 916 give or take) I managed to get into the hold queue.

I am Booked

P.S. - The hotel now has 4 less calls per second in its pbx channels. Good luck to everyone else!

Is anyone getting calls back yet if you left your name on "the list"? (not that I've stopped calling...)

OK seriously want to know who all succumbed to the evil thoughts even I got when she asked, do you want another room or just the one? Knew I could easily sell it ad cover my own room costs but decided I was not a fucktard and did not do it.

I wouldn't doubt plenty of people did, but with my luck I'd not be able to sell it or transfer it or get double charged or ripped off.

Question: if the rooms are sold it, can you get a room at a different hotel and still attend the show? Or what?
