McCain: "We wouldn't bail out Wall St. like Obama would!"

I laughed yesterday when I listened to a portion of McCain's speech in Ohio...where he stated the Republicans wouldn't bail out Wall Street with $700 billion "like Obama would."

HUH?!

Correct me if I'm wrong - but when Bush introduced the legislation to hand over the bail out...didn't both McCain and Obama agree it was the thing to do at the time?

McCain is sooooooooooo full of shit.

He squishes when he walks.

He is talking to his base and they will pretty much believe anything he tells them. They will conviently forget that he approved of the bailout.

So many lies, and so obvious. Scary that many people will believe it anyway. How do you deal with a mass of people like that who are allowed to vote?

The wheels are coming off when FOX guys are jumping ship left and right. The polls might actually be right.

They are more than right. You should start petitioning Obama to put Ron Paul in his cabinet.

He put his entire campaign on hold to go back to Washington to make sure the bailout DID happen.

That's absurd.

McCain Now Supports Auto Industry Bailout: I?ll ?Do Whatever I Think Needs To Be Done?»

The government recently promised the auto industry $25 billion in loans in order to produce more fuel-efficient models. Now, as General Motors and Chrysler consider a merger, executives are hinting at another $10 billion in federal help. Earlier this week, top McCain adviser Carly Fiorina said the campaign opposes any auto bailout:

?I don?t think the government can rescue the industry,? Carly Fiorina, former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard Corp, told Reuters at an event in suburban Detroit.?Whatever the government does, it should not take away the fundamentals of risk-taking. Sometimes it leads to rewards and sometimes consequences, downside,? she said. ?In other words, the auto industry cannot be saved from its own bad bets.?

Today, however, interviewed on Good Morning America, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) expressed support for the auto industry bailouts:

Q: We?re finding out that there may be a possibility of some sort of bail-out or government assistance for the auto industry. Would that be something that you would support?

MCCAIN: Well, we?ve already done that to $25 billion, and we?ve delayed getting them the money. I would do whatever I think needs to be done to help our automotive industry. We?ve got to make this transition to flex fuel, battery powered, hydrogen automobiles. And, obviously ? and, also, I would provide tax credits for people who buy these new automobiles. We?ve got to keep this industry alive. There?s no doubt about that.

McCain has been slowly creeping towards supporting bailouts for the auto industry. In June, he stated, ?Frankly I just don?t see a scenario where the federal government would come in and bail out any industry in America today.? Earlier this week, McCain was on the fence, telling NBC, ?Let?s get the $25 billion to them to start with and see how that goes.? Finally, today, he hinted at full support for more bailouts.

Fiorina has been ostracized by the campaign for repeatedly publicly contradicting campaign policy. In April, she said McCain favored ?private accounts? for Social Security, while McCain was saying he opposed privatizing Social Security. She has also contradicted McCain on birth control policy.
Gotta love the free market attitude ... As " spreading the wealth " , well draw your own conclusion....

Not to mention, he said in the 2nd debate he wants to "buy up all these mortgages." Seems he wants an even bigger role for the government than Obama does.

No. I love America and care for it. Plus earn a lot of my income from Americans. So the welfare of America is important to me. I called him Flip Flop because that was the charge leveled at Kerry.

For the record it saddens me that a country with the population, talent and resources of America can't find people better than Bush, Kerry, McCain, Palin and Obama to run it. You need and deserve better. But out of the two running this time I feel Obama is the better.

The idea of McCain passing away in the next four years and Palin sitting down to discuss the problems of the world is too scary to even contemplate. She's a home town girl and picked just for that reason. I might be proved wrong in the future but nothing she has done to date make me thinks she is qualified to be the most powerful person in the Western world. There are people with their own countries and vested interests who could run rings around her.

McCain doesn't have to pass away for Palin to take over the reigns... if he can't fulfill the duties of president for ANY reason (recurrence of his melanoma, etc.), then we have a Palin Administration.
