I think the color choice does not depend on the orientation of the public...just try to use some colors that match with the idea of your site, and the sensation you want it to cause. Then study the colors effects and aply it in your site

Nothing too gay-ish like pink, purple or something like that. From my personal expirience the gay people pretend to like stuff, that straight people like. Iam talking about gays 25+, i dont know how the younger ones are thinking.
Colors i see a lot in gay places are green, yellow, beige and solid colors like that. Just keep it simple and not fancy.

I don't think there's a stereotypical answer to your question. In fact, I find it quite sexist - and I'm not even gay. However, if your are interested in color trends .. you might want to check out Pantone's website which lists the trending colors for the upcoming season.
