Your favorite Rolling Stones song?

For me it is 'You Can't Always Get What You Want'. Yours?

Sympathy for the Devil just for the sake of what happened at Altamont. It really showed their true colors.

Street fighting man

Slipping away

my fav. albums are "sympathy for the devil" and "stripped"

I recommend what Nick Kent wrote about stones after spending a tour with them, great read.

My favorite Stone song changes with my mood....Jagger/Richards definitely are great songwriters. Saw them first in 1978 when they opened their Some Girls tour in Lakeland Fla. The Lakeland Civic Center only held 10,000 people so the concert was a "secret". Another guitarist called me and said: "Hey Robbie, get your ass to the Civic Center box office..they are selling tickets to The Rolling Stones" I lived 5 minutes away and got right over there. At the box office ticket counter was a sheet of paper duct taped over the window that said: "Stones Tickets" I bought 2. They were $10.50 each. The most expensive concert tickets I had ever seen back then! (I had went to see ELO, with Eric Burden, and Rick Derringer opening up for $3 2 weeks earlier)
My tickets did not say "The Rolling Stones" on them. They said: "THE GREAT SOUTHEASTERN STONED OUT WRESTLING CHAMPIONS" lol
They sold out all 10,000 + tickets in 45 minutes by word of mouth.

Dead Flowers

Well, when youre sitting there
In your silk upholstered chair
Talking to some rich folks that you know
Well I hope you wont see me
In my ragged company
You know I could never be alone

Take me down little susie, take me down
I know you think youre the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I wont forget to put roses on your grave

Well, when youre sitting back
In your rose pink cadillac
Making bets on kentucky derby day
Ill be in my basement room
With a needle and a spoon
And another girl to take my pain away

Take me down little susie, take me down
I know you think youre the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I wont forget to put roses on your grave

Take me down little susie, take me down
I know you think youre the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the us mail
Say it with dead flowers at my wedding
And I wont forget to put roses on your grave
No I wont forget to put roses on your grave

Gimme Shelter gives me goosebumps almost every time I hear it...

Here is a version from a Mick Jagger solo tour (with Joe Satriani on guitar):

THe song I most enjoy playing is Wild Horses, since it lends itself well to a variety of tempos and the lyrics are so damn good...

The song "Miss You" (and the whole "Some Girls" album) is also kind of special to my wife and I.

The Rolling Stones made so many great songs, it's pretty hard to narrow it down to one favorite song...Midnight Rambler, Heartbreaker, Brown Sugar, Angie, and of course, Satisfaction are among my favorites, but I could easily list 20 more...

I know...it's only Rock and Roll - but I like it!!!

ADG

Cool clip ADG. I've never seen any of that solo Jagger footage. I remember when he put that tour together and Keith Richards threatened to "Cut his fucking throat" if he did that tour in the U.S. so it never came here LOL! But that shit is great! Yeah, the Stones sound a lot better now that they are "straight" and Mick actually sings the songs these days (the "Shine A Light" movie by Martin Scorcese from their tour of 2006 is awesome)...but it's still cool to see why we loved the mystique of the Stones in the first place....SEX, DRUGS, and ROCK-N-ROLL! Mick definitely has his coke face on and doesn't even remember his own songs! I love that shit! Hell yes!
