Recent research has analysed the link between the harmful effects of drugs relative to their current classification by law with some startling conclusions. Perhaps most startling of all is that alcohol, solvents and tobacco (all unclassified drugs) are rated more dangerous than ecstasy, 4-MTA and LSD (all class A drugs). If the current ABC system is retained, alcohol would be rated a class A drug and tobacco class B.

Actually... that's mostly urban legend.

While it's possible for a human to die from ingesting LSD, no cases have ever been recorded, and it would take almost 40,000 hits (at one time) to have a 50% chance of dying.

while this is true I have known a lot of people who have hurt themselves pretty bad while on acid. I have also known people who have hurt themselves bad while drunk. I have never known a person to hurt themselves (falling down, thinking they can fly kind of injury) while smoking a cigarette or chewing.

In no way am I saying that tobacco isnt dangerous because it is. Just seems that if you took acid everyday like you smoked everyday that after a few years your brain would be mush.

I took 25 hits one night in SF Thinking I was taking a couple. Fried my balls off but didn't die. Another time I had a pig roll up on me and I have choke on 10 hits of E . That was way more crazy then the LSD.

Wow interesting.. I'd heard that if you're caught with more than X number of hits and selling them, you could go to jail for a much worse crime than selling drugs, because technically you could be killing people. I guess it was a myth.

I do know this:

The last time I did acid, I did liquid acid and blotter at the same time.

We threw a picnic table off a cliff.

A 15 year old kid with us had to be convinced he REALLY shouldn't attempt to jump across to another rock, since it was a couple hundred feet down if he was wrong.

We burnt a perfectly good 26 of rum... to watch the bottle explode.

We met a cat named Knight Rider. He came out of nowhere, a totally black cat, then came with us back to the camp. My friends overheard me talking to the cat, and I was calling him Knight Rider apparently.. heh

Yeah... I think we've all heard the "manslaughter myth".. but for you to actually be charged with manslaughter, there first has to be a body.

I guess it's possible that people have been charged with manslaughter after someone they sold LSD to thought they could fly and decided to take a dive off a cliff... and maybe the myth originated from something like that.

In 1995 I got caught with 2 hits of LSD, they told me 1 hit was attempted suicide, and 2 was attempted manslaughter. Luckily, I was a minor (13 years) so they only charged me (+ slap on the wrist and drug counseling) and did not convict me of the felony charge. I definitely lucked out and didn't fuck around after that.
