I have my own sad story about the passing of my father, but that is for another thread.

I'm soo sorry to hear that. I lost my Mom on mothers day last year, she died about 20 minutes after I and the rest of the family left her house.

As a mother, I could not imagine my child leaving this earth before me. And as a mother, I could ask for nothing more than my child being there with me when I leave.
Your mother raised a good son and I know she was grateful to have you by her side. weddings and funerals seem to be the events that happen more frequently as we grow older. And one day it hit me, I am going to die and so will everyone I know in my life. I look around and know that someday I will not see anything that I do now. I feel for you buddy, I lost my step dad to cancer 2 1/2 years ago, then my mom got cancer, TWICE, but she beat it both times, she's a tough woman and I hope she lives to see her great grand children, and I hope that doesn't happen anytime soon!

But also glad that you got the last moments that you did.My mother died after a stroke and several months of full time care. The day I was looking to buy a house to move her and myself into where I could care for her. I'd been lucky to pick the time, and had visited with her the night before for hours and hours. Her passing still hurts me, but if I hadnt have had that time, it would be so much worse. She was my best friend. Not in the "he's nice to say that" way either, I mean in the real way. Good luck and be well.
