Adult Friend Finder becomes ASACP Platinum Sponsor hold fundraiser for more donations

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Social networking site AdultFriendFinder.com has become a platinum sponsor of the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP). Through its parent company, Various, Inc., the site has also announced that it will provide $10,000 in matching grants to any other websites or individuals that wish to contribute to ASACP.


"We are very pleased to have a significant involvement with ASACP and are strong supporters of its work to help parents protect their children from exposure to inappropriate content on the Internet," said Legendary Lars, director of marketing for AdultFriendFinder and Various, Inc. "We are particularly strong advocates of the Restricted to Adults or RTA labeling program that ASACP is promoting. We believe strongly in the self-regulatory model, and RTA is a powerful tool that websites can embrace. We have long been a corporate sponsor of ASACP and are happy to elevate our involvement to the Platinum level."

You know what? Who should the ASACP take the money from? Only people who are squeaky clean? OR... let's say that AFF is out peddling kids on the street themselves right now.

Wouldn't it be the ultimate beauty if the ASACP took the money that they make and it use it right back against them?? Shouldn't they take that money and put it to good use rather than just let them use it to continue doing their practices?

If AFF is so bad, if they truly are the root of all evil that you guys paint them, then donate... step up, encourage the ASACP to use the money towards investigating these allegations further... and shut them down. AFF is so into CP, and the ASACP is so against it... this should end just the way you all dream it will and everyone will rejoice.

If the ASACP doesn't shut them down, if they don't feel that AFF is in the wrong.... then too bad. Sit down and shut up.

I've donated a lot of money to ASACP over time, it's not about me and my donation, and it's not about ASACP.

This is about that right now I can go and DL CP from websites and right next to it is a banner for AFF.

Torrent sites spread CP all over the net, AFF is paying them to do so, that is my problem.

Why would someone like Lars who supports CP as much as he says he does run banner ads next to links that entail the following:

The truth is there. You are a major ASACP supporter. Don't you feel just slightly confused when the company listed right next to you makes money off of sites that facilitate the distribution of CP? Do you not think that AFF probably made way more than 10k off of being on torrent sites?

Have you checked the torrents recently? Is your site one of the full site rips been given away for free, luring in search engine traffic that would otherwise end up at your site? Do you think that Lars maybe makes a few bucks off of you as a result?

I don't understand why the other companies sponsoring ASACP aren't more outraged to see the largest affiliate company, which so clearly profits from the distribution of stolen content and worse CP content on the top of the list right next to them.

It should chap your ass massively!

Fris: If you want to start a "please donate to ASACP" thread, there won't be an issue. You don't support CP distributors, so nobody is going to touch the subject. As I said before, I commend AFF for their donation to ASACP, I just hope they take adjust their corporate policies in the long run to match this very small (for them) donation.
