PPV Vs Subscription Sales - GoFuckYourself.com

Hi

I just wondered what people feel about the PPV sales model now that its had a little time to settle down. There are some large sites like AEBN obviosuly doing very well out of it, but will it ever replace the proven subscription/recurring billing model?

If a subscription website manages to hold a $30/month member for 2.5 month then the site's taken $50. If a PPV site charges $5/movie do you think the same customer would buy 10+ movies?

PPV websites prevent the customer from downloading the content either by streaming it or with protection such as DRM. Do you think this alone is enough to prevent PPV from taking off big time?

Does anyone here promote PPV and membership websites equally? Which does best?

welll, maybe a surfer wont spend the same amount he would spend on subscriptions site, but probably MORE surfers will spend even if its less money per surfer, the total profit may be bigger.

PPV sites perpetuate the surfers thought of entitlement when it comes to porn in addition to getting the surfer used to downloading individual movies... Just like they do on torrent sites.
