I don't really want to get involved here, but in Ramos' defense, Pete does exist and is a good friend of mine. He has a pic attached to his account over on another board.

I also tend to agree with him about MMA fighters not getting into physical altercations outside of an organized situation. Aside from it potentially sending the wrong message about what MMA is all about, a trained fighter that gets into a physical confrontation on the street can bring some serious charges upon themselves including felonious assault w/ other associated charges. Most tend to want to stay away from that.

The only other thing I'll say is that after reading this thread, I've heard both sides of the story and they differ....greatly.

I wasn't there, but you know what they say....there's always 3 sides to a story, your version, his version and the truth.

I decided not to press charges after all assault and battery done on my person, are you saying I should press charges? I took a good 30 minutes of being pushed around before I felt I was going to be attacked with malice.

You missed my point there fella. If you are a trained fighter the law looks at you differenly than a person who isn't. A trained fighter is looked upon by the law as a deadly weapon against someone who isn't. The charges could be more serious, like assault w/ a deadly weapon, etc...instead of simple assault.

The law would also take into consideration a backround check, no felonies, no misdeamnors, sober, lucid, and in control of my faculties. Having a concealed weapons permit also puts me in a positive light with them. Considering that Florida's law on self defense with a firearm is quite black and white, and in my favor.

Alot of variables, and in this case, no one was seriously injured, thankfully.

Ramos, I too like you man, but you have no business trying to fight someone drunk or not. especially if they were not trying to attack you or something that would illicit a logical physical response. I do not see any reason Anthony would take the risk of losing his opportunity to pursue the sport he is going after , just to act like a thug, I also do not think he would do anything unprovoked. As we get more drunk through the day/ or night it escalates sometimes to a point where someone else may think we werent friends and actually arguing (im sure we have all done or seen this). Sometimes there is that point where the wrong thing is said or the wrong tone is used ADD the liquor and BEST FRIEND, BROTHER, or complete stranger...something goes wrong. THis point is usually avoidable especially when you are really good friends with someone. I think thats the problem RAMOS gets a little wasted he says the wrong thing to a "industry friend" (who may not be a s cool with him as he thinks) then the next days convo is "MAN we boys, how'd all that happen"

To be honest with you all I know GFY loves a great story but that is all that this is. And it was most naturally posted by someone who has nothing to do with it either way.

I saw everything unfold and the first thing I have to say is that Ramos was not laid out.

Disarmed and aggressively moved over but not laid out in anyway. He wasn't being particularly mouthy either. He was fake punching Ant and just being a lil' annoying. Which really I don't think was such a big deal.
