going on my first cruise ever, and its to the Bahamas....... anything I should make sure to do/steal/freeload on the boat? any things in the Bahamas i should make sure to do (i'll be at the capital in Nassau)?

im bringing my video camera with me. and my laptop.

big water bottles filled with vodka. drinks are around 7-8$ each on a cruise and they dont let you bring on alcohol.
stock up on alcohol in nassau too, to bring back home, its real cheap there. sr. frogs is cool, so is the straw market, atlantis is AWESOME.

Stay away from the nude beaches. Sure they sound like a good place to go to look at hot young girls, but you'll be scarred for life, because there are no hot girls or young girls there.

Go to cruisecritic.com and check out your ship and the roll-call message board thread for it so you can meet people you will be cruising with as get familiar with the decks..on your ship. Biggest advice is to also check out the threads with the port of calls you will be making so you can learn about and plan out how you want to spend your day in port and do it yourself rather than with a planned group thing.

Wear some kind of tracking device, or water wings, in case you fall or are pushed overboard! Seems that there has been a few incidents of people gone missing while on a cruise! j/k Just relax and have fun

If you're going to book shore excurssions you shouldn't do it on the boat they charge way too much, as soon as you get to port there are private guys what will give you tours, or take you snorkling for less then half the cost. And remember everything is negotiable and you can pretty much bargain for anything when at port.

Also if you have a choice for early or late dinner seatings its usually best to chose the late seating as you'll have more time on the islands when you dock.

Oh you should be very careful of pick pockets when travelling around the islands, the little kids are trained to steal from tourists in many places. It doesn't happen often but it happens.

I've been on many cruises they are very relaxing and fun vacations.

Atlantis is cool to walk through I suppose, straw market is fun for about 10 minutes. You get so fucking hot in there and people are packed in so tight they are breathing right down your neck.

As far as encounters, we did a few of them. The dolphin thing was pretty cool, and also did a 4-5 hour one where they take you off to another island to snorkle, swim, eat, do whatever etc.
