Hey domainers? Buyers, sellers, appraisers, brokers???

How do you value your domains...

do you just make up a price you think you'd get?

I mean, without actually getting an appraisal, how do you determine the approximate resale/market value of a domain you wish to sell.. I am talking about sitting domains with no pr or traffic,,, how do you price these...

A domain is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it!

Find end users for the big sales!

so, if I pick up a domain for $15, reselling it for $xxx+ isnt too unreasonable or out of the question? reason I ask is because I see no pr domains with no traffic on places like sedo, & on whois.sc, etc.. even big ticket domains, going for big bucks & these are for some pretty shitty names too,, & lately, I think I scored alot of what I think are great domain names..

I still don't get why people pay 1k+ for shit like nkgt.com or oazw.com ??

Someone mentioned earlier about branding. Those 4 letters may have some particular meaning to them.

A lot of domain sales are emotionally motivated. That is to say that for whatever reason a person 'needs' that name. There are many angles but really nothing is out of the question. On the other hand it is not a simple task to make tons of money right away. Trial & error and paying attention to industries, current events, names etc... Don't listen to any of the clowns lurking GFY who post negative stuff about domaining. Chances are they haven't tested the waters.

I'm seriously debating it,,, (Domaining that is.. & testing the waters) been buying more than what I know what to do with.. & well, it's a learning process in itself... Besides, it is fun to see what I can find or come up with,,, I scored some 3 char .orgs & gfy'ers told me that 3 char .org are worthless, so I went searching & searching for a 3 char.com, couldnt find one, but quite a few .nets
