LONGER than people think, and more money than people think too.

I think most of the time if your planning a big project for a new program work out a timeframe that you think is reasonable, then double it :-)

Very true! In fact that is a very good measure to live by when you provide timelines for people.... although not a good way to go about meeting pre-imposed deadlines LoL
