I would say up to $1200 is fine if you're getting a top notch service, that's fast, on reliable hardware with great support.

what type of bw? level3? verio? sprint/at&t/btn? 30mbps should be $40-$60/mbps
cogent/tiscali/nlayer? $20/mbps is about right And then throw on additional pricing for server and management if its managed.

$40 a meg is a good price for True Tier1 bandwith , you can get cheaper but cheaper is not always better. You might save a few $$$ in bandwith costs but the latency and downtime will cost you alot more than you saved.

first thing you do is stay away from just about any host who is posted or recommended here. They are oversold and underprovided. Stay clear.

MrJackMeHoff, you couldn't be farther from the truth with most of the paying advertisers on this board. Unlike non-adult hosts, most of us that specialize in quality adult hosting are far from oversubscribing bandwidth because we sell bandwidth with the expectation that our clients will burn it - and we look very forward to them growing into more usage.
For quality hardware, support and performance with backups you are in the right range. If you are on a single server setup than you should be able to do a little bit better on price. If multiple servers or higher end servers than you are in the right range for quality, multi-homed bandwidth. Happy to chat with anyone that is interested! Cheers and a happy Daddy's day to everyone tomorrow Brad

Guys, hosting isn't something you just buy off the shelf. It isn't like walking into Wal-Mart and picking up a 12 pack of Pepsi for $2 versus the grocery store for $3. Hosting is a service. A service that you need to depend on. Go with a company that earns your trust, that proves that they are worthy of your business, and that provides quality equipment and bandwidth to top it off. Yes, there are companies offering bandwidth for $15 per mbit while others charge more. Why do you think that is?

it also very much depends on the server specs and whether you want it managed or not...
