Why doesnt epassporte credit card work when buying online

I went to footlocker to buy me some sneakers and I used my epassporte to buy the sneaker and a NBA jersey. I place the order but it did not work. Footlocker said the the credit card wont go through. So I called epassporte and they said it should work. I do have the funds to buy the product. This is not the first time I could not buy something with the epassporte credit card. It's like epassporte is worthless when buying things online. Why is it that places wont accept the epassporte credit card. It's a waste of my time to buy with the epassporte credit card. Anybody had the same problem when buying something.

some places will only allow american based credit cards and since its not american it wont work.. this isnt epassporte specific

Another problem ( although shouldnt be with epassporte ) is when stores do the charge "off net " and epassporte isnt for off net purchases so it will be declined..

Those are a few of the reasons ..

I purchase stuff quite often with several different credit cards including epassporte and the failure rate is on par with most of the other ones ( not counting sites that wont process non american visa's )

Ok thanks for the explanation. I do remember one time when buying they said the credit card might be out of state.
