Wow, talk about reading my mind. I was just now having a battle with my conscience regarding this. I do have her password and have checked it a few times but feel so guilty and intrusive for doing it...especially since she has nothing "bad" in her account. So I'm done being nosy and untrusting. But my answer to your question: if you have nothing to hide, you have no reason to worry / care.

I've only ever looked at my partner's email once, when I was pretty sure she was lying about the male she was speaking to on the phone when I came back to the car earlier than expected. My hunch was right, I found an email to him apologising for abruptly ending the call.
That probably makes me sound like a possessive psycho but the fact is I've only ever truly doubted her that one time in the 7 years we have been together, and I felt comfortable doing it because I was right. Apart from that I have completely respected her privacy, even though I joke about saving all the email that passes through my server.  |

my ex gave me his password to check something for him when he didnt have net access, and i randomly checked it another time (thank god for the "unread" button) and found some sluts email in there saying all the reasons she wishes he wasnt with me. needless to say it made for unnecessary insecurity that wasnt even the poor guys fault, so yah, no reading of the emails. it just causes an untrust factor, if u dont trust the person, dont date em.

Yeah it sucks, my last gf was a hacker of sorts she got all my passwords and would go through my different email accounts and web sites and read all my stuff. Then she freaks about me not respecting her privacy when I tell people little random things about me that might involve her.
