I am moving in my new condo in a couple weeks... I will have this nice mezannine with a terrase on the second floor, and also a big 2nd living room downstairs... so while I had time and no furniture in, I was thinking of rewiring everything since I also need to fix some of the walls' plaster and redo the painting.

What I absolutely want to do is to have a way to switch audio from my computer or home theater to different speaker sets say in the 2nd living room and my room at the very least, but possibly also outside while I'm at it on the terrasse. Now, I am trying to get some info on the new A/V transmissions by electrical wiring so I wouldn't need to re-wire everything... but I also read some brief info on cat-5 wiring to send audio, or even thinking about x10 technology.

Does any of you know of some good ressource sites for that? I am a little in the dark here as I need to figure out a way to split the audio to 3-4 different set of speakers while keeping great sound quality, an easy way to switch those sources open (an universal infrared controller option prefered, or a wall switch/sound button). so, I will need info on what kind of receiver I would need to be able to do so, or what kind of wiring/technology would work best and still be not too expensive.

Finally, I wouldn't mind setting up the light controls to go on automatically as I walk in a room and go off by themselves say 5 mins after, or be able to control them with my universal remote as well and etc...
