Do you use a coaster? my desk is white so glasses leave a nasty mark... i usually pour heineken/local (1 liter) bottles in a big beer glass, and use whatever paper/dvd case i have handy as coaster, can't drink from the bottle, share your technique... discuss!

The Australian way is to drink them in a bottle which we call a stubbie and put a stubbie holder on them ( beer Cozzie) this then insulates the beer becuase you must drink it at the correct temp...We were handing out beer cozzies at the Phoenix Forum

also 'correct temp' is a vague term, they drink it fucking warm in england, can't stand that, what's the usual in Australia?

The correct temperature depends on the type of beer. In the USA the most common type of beer is "lager", which is best served cold (around 40-45 degrees f). Traditional English beer is usually "ale" or "bitter", which is best served at a cool room temperature (around 55 - 60 degrees f). Some things to remember:

1. Most of the time here in England it's fucking cold, so our room temperatures are a little different to much of the USA.
