Until it is bundled into a major IE update you can remove it from your personal browsing experience by uninstalling Update for Windows XP (KB912945)
Hopefully by the time you can't avoid it most websites you visit most frequently will have implimented workarounds such as http://blog.deconcept.com/flashobject/ or http://www.flashbeyond.com/  |
