Fuck, memory is so cheap now.

I just bought 512MB DDR sticks for Pentium IV's for $99 each.

It's only costs like $600 to build an server with a Gig of Ram.

Sweet.

Here in town at Fry's Electronics, the same place we bought most of the parts for the system that runs this board.

But I just looked at pricewatch and it's about the same: http://www.pricewatch.com/1/33/2841-1.htm

I'm gonna buy thousands of gigs of ram and sneak it into Australia and sell it out of a van in downtown Sydney.

No one steal my idea.

i used 2 gig of SD on win2k up until a month ago and it was sweet. i'm currently tiding myself over with 512 DDR after getting a new system (my first athlon) until i could be assed bying more (which will be real soon.. it's fucked - and i hope it's the lack of RAM i like to have Photoshop, flash, dreamweaver, Window media, notepad, FTP, a few word doc and about 10 -15 IE windows running at once.. currently WM stops the music when i switch between windows when i've got that much open..)

but i've also got to get a better videocard.. i got a geforce 4 MX as a temporary "tide me over" until the Ti600 is out.

Mushkin ram is top-notch and not overpriced. The reason the ram I am getting cost around $230 is because it is ECC Registered PC2100. It's the top of the top of the line. It even has built-on custom heat spreaders. No generic shit for me!

When on the subject,

Anyone have or no where to find a program that will trick your computer to think that a part of your RAM is a HDD? I've heard such a proggy do exist, but i have yet to find it somewhere :/

Just imagine the speed of heavy programs if you have it load from your ram instead of a slow 10k rpm hdd! :) *drooling*

Hello,

I found this link on why Some places sell what seems to be the same memory for cheaper.
It explains the different grades of Memory on the right side of the screen.
at the bottom the pricing is for the same memory just different grades.

http://www.pcboost.com/ddr.html

I never bought any from them I buy most of my stuff from
www.newegg.com

The Food stores are still alive and well.. Randy Fry and his brother.. (the kids of the Fry's Foods Retailer) are the ones that started the electronics store..

2GB Ram on a workstation, what the fuck for?

And when I lived in Scottsdale, Fry's Foods was the best. The funny thing is that Fry's Electronics is not the same ownership, but the logo is the same.
