Whether or not you care... it IS valid news for this message board when people change jobs in this industry...

Most of you folks are so busy with bullshit / jerk-off / drama threads that you forget this is a business networking forum too!

I think that info should be helpful if you deal with that rep or that company.

The company should do that. They are the ones that replace the line of support.

When the former employee makes the post, it is because they want another job. If I left Weg and was seeking new employment, I would make a post soliciting companies looking for my services.

same here. I never left on bad terms with any of the companies I was with. I was simply being greedy and not looking at the bigger picture. Now im in a situation that I am totally happy with and learning a great deal more than just being a rep.Once you find the fit you must acquit!

You have a great attitude, hopefully people take note.

I do everything I can to stay with Weg, even if that means working with Gabe.

Obviously things and scenarios change, however much thought should be involved before leaving IMO.

It depends on how CRUCIAL the rep is re 1) helping me with marketing tools 2) getting special deals going 3) facilitating webmaster support issues 4) listening to feedback from webmasters re improving their program. The best reps I've dealt with that actually deal with all the 4 items above are Bruce M from Leading Edge, aj from AAC, and Jack Mardack (aka 2HP) formerly of AFF. I'm sure there are many other reps that deal with the 4 items I outlined above, I just posted the ones I have personally worked with in the past 6 years.

Not really unless it's the rep associated to my account... sales rep still take care of at least a couple dozen people, so when they leave a compagny, they gotta let thoses people know

Okay, let's say that is true . . . and the problem is what?

Rui 02-14-2006 05:30 PM

lots of hating in this thread....

EroticySteve 02-14-2006 05:55 PM

I absolutely care if someone that works at a company leaves.

Depending on who they are and what their role with the company was it would make a big difference on whether or not I can or should work with them.

In business, the relationships you make are often with people and not with numbers or websites.

Plus many of the people you speak with on a daily basis are here at GFY. It's good to know when things change.

gecko 02-14-2006 05:59 PM

Only if they were my rep

Spunky 02-14-2006 06:00 PM

Only with the ones I deal with

Bugbee 02-14-2006 06:00 PM

52 new reps

i got SWOOPED!

gabe is the sexiest and smartest maxican I know...besides Sophia Castello:upsidedow

s9ann0 02-14-2006 06:05 PM

yes and the adult industry wouldn't exist without reps

Funbrunette 02-14-2006 06:05 PM

It's not about caring per say, but I like to be aware who works where and if I get a new Account manager for a program I might be pushing. It's as simple as that! :winkwink:

Cman 02-14-2006 06:07 PM

no i don't. i don't even talk to any affiliate reps on a regular basis (unless they are good friends anyway, but we don't talk business)

i have the link codes and the banners and as long as they keep sending me my money, what do i need an affiliate rep for?

it might just be my nature, because i never contact any type of support for anything, unless i really need it.

shermo 02-14-2006 06:43 PM

It really depends on the rep. I like knowing where the notables are. For the fly by night guys/grls, I dont give a fuck.

Sorry, just saw this running a search on my name :( No, I haven't taken another job in the biz. I have several free sites I've had since 97 though that I'll be building back up eventually though.

The guys who run fatfuckingcash.com are good friends of mine and have been for years. Plus I know it's a damn good program. I offered to fly their banner in my sig after I left WEG since I was "sigless" and Hellpuppy pointed out that if I was going to put it in there, I might as well sign up, get a referrer code and make some $$$ off it. I TOLD him again I'd fly it for free, but if he really wanted to give me money that badly, I'd take it :thumbsup

And there are people who can attest to the fact that I WAS offered other jobs when I left WEG but I turned them down. I am focusing on school and other mainstream businesses and just dabbling in adult :)

I was also told by the CEO of WEG that they would not be making any sort of announcement of my departure and it was up to me if I wanted to make one on my own. As I said, since people STILL contact me about WEG stuff, it only made sense for me to post that I was no longer there :)

LOL Peaches. Just yesterday someone icqd me regarding wegcash stuff. That will happen to you for a while regardless especially if your name was tightly branded to that program as long as it was. But that's a good thing. It means you did a good job there :)

There is nothing wrong with moving on as long as you're moving UP and doing what you want to do and what you believe in.

Yeah, someone asked me just yesterday if Tonda was still there too! I miss you :( And I don't know if you saw it on the the other thread, but congrats on the new gig! Females are more open - we post "Hey, I'm looking for a new job", lol, and don't play the macho games :thumbsup

I miss you too!!

And I agree on the bullshit games. I have no problems whatsoever walking away from a situation that I don't think is right for me. I want to get a tshirt that says "I'm taking job offers" haha.. That's how I got with lens and this last time it got me connected on a different level to programs and sites that I now admire greatly even if I didn't end up directly working for them.

And thanks.. so far Party Poker guys have been fantastic! I've been pelting them with questions and they have been very encouraging and motivating. When I need something, BANG, it's there. They're trusting my judgement on everything that I present to them and they are giving me lots of rope to negotiate with. I'm very much enjoying the freedom of marketing style they allow me and the respect they give me every day. A very organized group. I couldn't ask for more.

When are we going to see you in person again?

mikeyddddd 02-19-2006 01:31 PM

No. Nope. Nyet. Negatory.

RIGHT NOW I have plans to go to Phoenix. However I just found out one of my dogs might need surgery :( Depending on how long he'll be immobile depends on if I make the trip. I'm in the process of canceling one for Vegas next weekend because of it. We have an appointment with the doggie neurologist next week which will give me a better handle on my traveling plans. I have an excellent dog sitter but she obviously can't be here 24/7 and I don't want him to think I've had him sliced open and then leave :(

If you can guarantee YOU'LL FREAKING BE THERE, I could also schedule a trip to Seattle - and there's talk of a Vancouver show I would LOVE to go to. :)
