Stay in Toronto or move out to Vancouver?
Has anyone made this decision and moved out to Vancouver from Toronto? If so, are you glad with the change or have you come back to T.O?

I don't currently live in either city, but I would choose Vancouver over Toronto.

Well Vancouver is a very nice place and I've thought about moving out there myself. I have a few Uncles out there but they're married or have their own thing going on. All my friends and family are in Toronto so looks like I'll be sticking here. If I had nothing keeping me here I'd love to move out west to see what it's like.

I moved from Toronto to Vancouver when I was 18.... stayed there for 10 whole years.
I'd still be there now if it wasn't for family, my fiance and my son.... now I am needed here close to Toronto again. But yeah, if I was still on my own, I'd still be in Vancouver. It's the best. Once you're there... you never leave. Unless you have to |

I'll second that, I'm enjoying the Westcoast lifestyle going on 10 years, and I'll never look back. Love TO but it's no Van.

Vancity is the bomb. The winters aren't anything like TO.

Clearly............move to Vancouver, I freaking LOVE that lil city...
Also I hear it has much better air quality than TO, and what's better than an ocean view, even if it's cold as f*ck!

I am actually considering the same thing, I don't know why. I don't know anything about vancouver but I guess it's just the next best place to be and it'll be a nice adventure

I grew up near Toronto (Kitchener) and moved out to Vancouver when I was about 20. You could not get me back to TO unless you put a gun to my head.
Main differences: Lots more stuff to do In Toronto inside (nightlife, bars, clubs, culture). Better career opportunities if you want to be in the rat race. But the weather totally sucks, people are stressed, its too crowded, it's flat and ugly. Way more things to do outside in Vancouver (ski, sail, golf year round, beaches, hiking, etc). Nightlife kind of sucks by comparison though. And you won't make a lot of money out here unless you have your own business. And you have to be tolerant of other cultures and lifestyles. |
