Game on, but I hope the amount of penalties per game starts to lower a bit.

Yes. Now deliver a kick ass season. Hockey is still a great game and hopefully the new rules make it even better. ALL major sports have gone through this type of thing. NBA just avoided it end of last season. Now lets Drop the puck and move on.
BTW, Nice WIN for the Rangers last night in Philly! |

I'm glad to see Hockey back. The Ice Palace was off the hook, or so I heard from a friend last night.

I forgave the minute I bought tickets. I am still undecided about the shoot out. To play hard for 3 periods and then to have it decided by a shoot out sort of sucks. Perhaps I say that because the Leafs lost in a shoot out, who knows, I don't really love it. The new rules for the most part made it a better game and I was pretty impressed that there was not one fight at the game I was at last night. Sundin left the first period not to return for the game, ended up with a puck in the eye and one of the ref's left to, he got a stick in the eye. Pretty exciting, too bad my team lost.

It's hard for me to watch games like hockey, baseball, and basketball because there's too damn many games for them to matter. It's like if a team wins or loses, it's no big deal, there's still another 100 games to play, so there's really no feeling for me whereas with football, every game really matters, so it gets you more into it. I do watch during playoffs though when the games really matter.

I dont feel sorry for Sundin one bit. he is suppose to be an icon to young kids and hockey players and how does he play the sport?? NO HOCKEY MASK. He grew up playing with one, and he knows the damages that can happen. The leafs should simply say, If your playing without one, and you get hit - then its your fault and you forfeit your holiday pay. Kids dont need to see that - prefer he takes his "cup" out of his pants
