It was a beautiful burn. Did you stay for the temple burn? http://static.flickr.com/26/41767066_c2255f6ee8_o.jpg |
Awesome Pics Rand!!
|
that.... ruled.
thanks for the shots! |
thank you for taking pictures of all the fabulous art there! i feel like we didn't get to see much of it even though it was all around us. you took tons of great shots =) i got some good ones of the temple burn if you weren't there for it, we'll post them in our thread on BM soon! *love*
|
Amazing! Just looking at the pics is inspiring.
I can't imagine how much work it would be to set up the huge installation pieces & then haul them away just a week later. |

I have never actually stayed for the temple burn. The plan was to do so this year, but we ended up leaving only about 3 hours before the burn happened. That was kind-of sily. We should have just stayed. I can't wait to see the pic's you guys have from that evening and all the rest too! |
holy fuck that looks like the the fuckign coolest time ever
i really got to make it to that next year goods stuff Rand :) |
For anyone thinking of going sometime, be sure you speak with someone who's been and don your research. BM is a difficlut environment and quite franky I like the obstacles that are in place there as it helps insure that those who really want to be a part of it acutally go. It's an experience like no other. So if you think it's for you, do make the effort. |
damn... those pics are so fucking great!
|
If you made a land cruiser with a battery powered motor, could you drive it around?
|
Quote:
Possibly. You wouldn't even need it to be an electric motor. Most of the art cars//trucks/busses operate on regular fuel. Your vehicle must simply qualify as an art car and be approved by the DMV (Department of Mutant Vehicles) in order to be allowed to drive around the city and out onto the playa. I've always wanted to have an art car there. What a great way to see the place and an excellent way to meet tons of people. Everyone wants to ride on an art car. |
WOW amazing pictures
I hope to be there next year |
One last pic here for the greatest "human art" I saw at Burning Man this year.... I was shooting a pic somewhere near center camp when I hear... "Is that Rand?" I turn and there stands Halcyon and Tassy! It was my first time meeting Tassy (who is so beautiful and amazing) and the energy surrounding these two beautiful souls is so tangible it rubs off on you. Tassy gives great hugs! So does Hal for that matter! What an amazing couple that I'm proud to know. They are definitly an un-usual spectacle to many people. But to me... they're just normal folks with a super-human capacity for love and what's good. I would venture to guess they were the most photographed couple at Burning Man this year. :thumbsup God bless you both! http://randomania.net/BM05/DSC06831.JPG |

Ya know...I'm used to getting my pic taken when I'm in my BM outfits. But that was my first time with tASSy at Burning Man...and holy moly....We were photographed like CRAZY. It was thrilling and exhausting. Can't wait til next year. |
Ooh, those are cool!
I wish they would have Burning Man somewhere a little chillier. |

OK... I'll post one more because this was pretty funny. This was the Berating Chair. You sat down and put on the headphones to listen as one male and one female voice insulted you for as long as you would listen. http://randomania.net/BM05/DSC07558.JPG http://randomania.net/BM05/DSC07559.JPG |
thanks, nice pics

This years population was just under 39,000. The largest yet. For one week, it is Nevada's 5th largest city and then it's gone "without a trace". |
