Having spent more than3 years studying art, i agree.

But i also know, "tunnel vision paintings" are soooo common amongst even the most academic of students in the art field.

there really isnt many modern painters who at one time havent done some cicular tunnel paintins. it doesnt take a Basquit student to know that.

BTW one of my favorite painters is Pollock and we know his shit aint too difficult

Tunnel Vision? You can take 3 more years of art classes...

I like it. I buy art all the time, but mostly photos.

The price is good, too. Here in Chico local artists take their work to various art stores, who sell them for $400 and up. This would hold its own against many.

I wouldn't, I forgot all about this thread, but refferal in the stats reminded me about it. Why would I avoid art related "piss"? Art is the territory where I can beat you with my eyes closed.

the fact you think one can argue about "art" and actually "win" proves how little you really know.

however, im not going to piss with you over it. art is not subject to a win or lose debate.

i didnt like the piece, big deal. you wanting to argue about my opinion validates its weight.

you are comparing dick with finger.
This is glass sculpture, 3 dimensional media, paintings are 2 dimensional.

BTW, I am charging you for the art lessons I provide, have your paypal funded.

are you nuts? "Taste is not subject of arguments" - an old Roman proverb.
You have the right to like or dislike ANYTHING.

The other part about winning does make sense though, your point is taken.

It's cool that you helped coordinate one of his exhibits.

When I buy photo art it is always from local photographers. I like that. Not only does it help a local artist but I hear right from his/her mouth exactly what happened in the photo.

A man in town, Bill Iha, is a rising star. I purchase his photos all the time. He under prices himself and I make him charge me more than he asks. I want to pay what he's worth.

http://www.newsreview.com/issues/chi...7/backbeat.asp

I now own one of the photos from that article (the two naked girls being carried on the railroad tracks).

Bill also teaches dance. He's a very intriguing fellow. And he makes me do a lot of pushups when he comes around.

Fletch, after giving it a thought, I think you are just bitter that you formal art education went down the drain and no artist have become of you. Don't feel low, porn graphic designer is a good profession too.

I'll have to disagree with you there. That attitude is exactly what has been wrong with art for the past 40 years or so. The idea that because there is no absolute, objective measure of "art", everything is art and everything is equal is both absurd and perverse. It las led to generations of untalented artists creating hundreds of thousands of crappy paintings and sculptures all asking the same ridiculous question: "What is art, and what are the limits of art?"

The next time some untalented, scrawny, pseudo-intellectual self-proclaimed artist shows me his uninspired little nothings and tells me he wanted to "explore the limits of art", I am probably going to punch him in the face and keep on punching until there's nothing left of his smuck little face but a bloody pulp.

Not everything is art, not everything is good, not everything is equal.
