I partnered with someone for a new project unrelated to adult. New business licenses, bank accounts, domain names, merchant accounts... the whole nine yards.
It's a good feeling having a team effort with someone that actually knows what they're doing, and lives only a couple miles away. So I can walk through his door and beat him over the head. So do you think having a partnership is a good thing? |

Not only have I considered it but I'm in some discussions about a deal at the moment.

I have had nothing but grief with partnerships. I have a simple rule now. Make shit, make money and fuck everyone else. I've tried partnerships with adult webmasters as well as personal friends trying to get into the business. They learned a lot from me and the only thing I learned is it isn't worth it.

I've had good partnerships and bad ones...the most important thing is making sure you're partner doesn't have the same weaknesses as you do or they get magnified...

I just partner with the same dude all the time, on different businesses. It takes too much time and energy running several businesses, each with a different person/company.

i partner with my man, he writes the code for our sites, and i handle the PR/marketing. all in all, it works out pretty well, and all the money we make stays in house.

I've never found a partnership that works... the trick is finding someone that's at least as motivated as you... It doesn't feel good to be doing 90% of the work for 50% of the pay.

Only have a partner if you really need one...during the slumps, do you really want to cut your income in half? Vise versa when your making bank. Sometimes, employees are better than partners.

It would be impossible to hire someone as an employee that would make that kind of contribution. |
