:mad FUCKIN' Amazon credit card

Alright I knew credit card companies were robber barons, but I didn't pay much mind up until now since I always paid on time and would be what (according to what I saw on a PBS program) they call a "deadbeat", i.e. a customer who always pays on time and therefore doesn't make them much money. So one month I'm late on a payment by two days because I was travelling and didn't mail the check in time, and BAM... over $50 in finance charges, zero grace period. I paid that off, and next month I still get finance charges and find out the hard way about "two cycle billing" (of course, the customer rep couldn't explain to me what that was, so I had to Google it to find out). The rep agreed to credit the second month's finance charges, since I complained, so it sounds like something they do as long as you don't complain. I've had enough with this Chase card.

In fact, I don't even really need a credit card but it's convenient sometimes for large purchases and maybe necessary to build up a credit history for future mortgage.

What's a good less-dishonest credit card to get? No "two cycle billing", zero grace periods, annual fees, or other bullshit.

Chase just bought out 3 of my credit cards from BankOne. I've never been late on a payment and they're all paid in full. I just got letters that they are canceling 2 of them and lowering the limit by half on the third. All because I have "too much credit available" to me. Oh brother.

Of course, this is how "credit" works, lol. It's a money making business. If you pay off all of the time right away, then you're better off keeping a CC account without using it, and instead use a bank debit card that draws right from your checking account.
Once every couple of months buy something on your CC and mail the payment the same day, just to keep your credit score up.

Interesting, I just realized one of the cards Chase canceled was my Amazon card! I better get the credits I've earned towards purchases. I'm also canceling my remaining Chase card with the 1/2 balance. Idiots.

The credit card companies hate people that are reliable.

Yea, in industry lingo they call us "deadbeats", because we pay on time. That's how twisted it has become. In any other industry, a deadbeat would be someone who doesn't pay up. At least the CC companies got Bush to look out for them. Screw the little guy. One day I will be all powerful and slaughter the CC people like the animals they are...
