Those who have already seen Star Wars III: What did you like/hate about it?

We saw it this afternoon. I remember when the original Star Wars first came out, I was in 3rd grade. My dad was nice enough to try to get all the action figures for me, but I kept bringing them to school and wound up losing or breaking a good amount of them. I also had all the Star Wars cards, from all of the original trilogy movies.

Anyhow, after seeing Revenge of the Sith, there are a couple of things that I really loved about this movie, and other things that I didn't.

I loved the fact that Lucas wrapped up all the loose ends so nicely. All the seemingly obvious contradictions or inconsistencies that there seemed there have been throughout the series were addressed. For an example, the fact that R2-D2 and C-3PO did not seem to know anything about Darth Vader from the past, in episodes iv-vi, was answered. This was because their memories were wiped at the very end of ROTS.

The one thing that I did not like about ROTS was that it seemed to drag in parts. Even though it was full of action (more so than any of the others) it just seemed a little too long.

Overall, this movie meshed well with the original (epidode iv) and is an excellent final installment for this legendary saga.

How do you feel about it?

I like it alot. The opening scene just blew me away. Only thing that got to me was the dialog at some parts.

That was badass when it seemed like they were going to shoot Yoda in the back and you just see the two guys heads come off. He just seemed realer this time around.

Was just sad at what happend to Anakin... I mean we knew it was going to happen. But hoped it wouldn't if you know what I mean.

Ya, when The Emporer/Palpatine/Sidious issued 'Order 66' the shit did indeed hit the fan. Lucas tied Yoda into things well by having Yoda state that he failed and that he needed to go into exile, explaining where Luke finds him in TESB.

Makes me wonder why Yoda didn't join the Rebellion though. They could of used his leadership.

We wound up seeing it for free. Towards the end, a crack of thunder left the theater in darkness for a second and then the lights came on, with everyone looking back and up at the projection booth. People weren't happy, at all.

The crisis only lasted for maybe 20 seconds, but everyone was pleasently surprised to be handed free tickets for any movie there as we were walking out of the theater.

We lucked out. The theater crowd was unexpectedly light. We went to a 3:10pm show, figuring that we'd miss all the kids at night, and it worked.

I waited 5 hrs and I got perfect seats I loved the movie.

I even loved how they tied in how OBI was going to learn how to talk to his "dead master" and in the next starwars movies he is able to talk to luc.

I didn't like it much. Haiden can't act for shit. Dooku was a fuckin pimp (christopher lee is the best actor to grace the SW world) and he died right away. It was slow. Padme was turned into a retard. A droid knowing the force is the dumbest shit since jar jar binks. Jedi Masters not 'feeling' it when some retarded ass clones were about to shoot them in the back wasn't incredibly impressive.

Most of all I hate everyone that said he tied it together so nicely. WTF. Episode 4 has been out for 28 years how hard would it be to tie it together? Kill everyone that is in episode 2 but not episode 4, make anakin evil, make the emperor ugly, wipe the droids memory, make it so that anakin knows he is having a kid but doesnt know he is having twins. Ok, where are my millions of dollars for my genius?

The good- It was probably the most graphically pleasing movie ever. Ewan McGregor and Yoda owned as usual. Wow all three of these prequels would be complete horse shit without Ewan.

Yoda seemed realer this time around. He had so many mannerisms. He didn't feel stiff like in the previous two movies.

Damn right Ewan owned in that movie. "I have the high ground! Don't try it!"

Movie gave the feeling that all the other Masters were weak except for Yoda, Windu and Obi Wan. Well that Cone Head guy blocked a few shots til he got overrun.

At the very end when Jimmy Smitts gave the droids to 'General Antillies'. Watch the beginning of the original Star Wars and you'll recognize the name and the set they used there.

I am not certain, but I know that Antillie's name is mentioned in the opening scenes of episode iv there. I do know that the background/set is the same though.

I loved it although to go from a guy who was contemplating turning the Emperor over to the Jedi council to child killer in 5 minutes I thought was a bit fucked up.

well i saw it yesterday. i think i went in with realistic expectations which was good. if you walk in thinking you are going to see a masterpiece on par with return of the king or shawshank redemption, or something as intellectual as blade runner sci fi wise, you are going to be let down tremendously.

so i went in........and liked the movie. it was good. the graphics rocked, no one is better at creating a world of machinery like lucas, yoda rocked, the acting was better, and the script was better.

what sucked was the holes in the plot. anakin turned towards the emperor wayyyyyyyyyyyy too fast.......that should have been explored way more and less action........and yes, the love scenes were laughable again ("hold me like you held me on Naboo...."). i felt myself going tsk tsk one too many times at this clumsy dialogue. the acting was better but once again was wooden at times, and at key times (eg. when ben explained to amidila the anakin's slaughtering of the children, he should have been trembling or weeping, or at least extremely upset........what was got was a deadpan line, with his hand on his beard......i mean, come on!).

so these things held it back from greatness. but man, go see it. its a good movie. just the worlds lucas creates, its really a sight.

I didn't like that either. Very quck and dramatic change without much reason. Also Anaken had to be completely dumb to swallow everything the emporer said. I wanted to smack him because the manipulation was so obvious and blatant.(It could have been shitty acting that made me feel that way too)
