Damn I rule at Poker

I've been playing a lot of online and casino poker lately. I go by the name ProjectSix.. I've done pretty well so far, but today and yesterday have been great. Here are two screenshots from two tournaments last night and today on Paradise Poker.

Total of $15,000 in two days with $390 invested for both tournaments combined.

There are WAY too many factors to say I play only one style.. you have to be aggressive obviously, that is the one common trait. But besides that, it depends on the blinds size, my stack vs others at the table, my table image, etc. You get your money in when you're a favourite and hope for the best.

Lots. Sunday is the day for most of the big online tournaments. Several of them with total prize pools from $200,000 to $500,000 with buyins from $150 to $600. Of course, you can win satellites for entries into these larger tournaments for less $ but the good players generally buy in directly.

It's pretty good. I do well there. Give it a try but try some others as well.. I reccomend UltimateBet, PokerStars and FullTiltPoker. PartyPoker obviously has the most players but I really don't like it there.. but that's just me.

Yeah I dont like partypoker at all. I play in JetSet poker all the time, which has some decent tourneys as well. I will try these others too.

lol.. go and pick up some poker books. try "Low Limit Hold'em" by Lee Jones.. and "Play Poker Like the Pros" by Phill Hellmuth Jr. Once you've read those, pick up Super/System by Doyle Brunson.

I've won three other tournaments in the past 6 months for $5,000 to $6,500 each. They were all about 3 or 4 weeks apart.. this is the best I've done over a short period of time.. just consistantly making the final table of every tournament I entered on sunday/monday.

I just don't like it there. There are SO many players that the prize pools get so big.. so if you can make a final table you're into some serious $$. But I just don't like their blind structure or any of that.

I also thought their rebuy tournaments are really badly organized.. most rebuy tournaments you can rebuy once more right from the start (so say its a $30 rebuy for 1500 chips, you can rebuy once for $30 to go to 3000 chips) and then rebuy all you want as long as you're under the starting 1500 chips. So if you lose a pot and have 700 chips left, you can rebuy to 2200. With PartyPoker, you can only rebuy if you hit zero chips. I tried playing one where I lost a pot and was left with 300 chips.. next hand I get pocket aces and end up in a three way all in but because it wouldn't let me rebuy since I didn't have zero chips, I only tripled up to 900 or so instead of tripling up with a full stack..

That ended up being longer than it had to be, but its just one of my many gripes with party.

everybody goes through bad streaks, even the best players. weeks or months at a time when you can't win shit. usually its a streak of bad luck, but after the bad luck you lose your confidence and then your game does change. take a break, maybe watch others play, read a book.. and give it another shot. that or switch to a lower limit and try there.

nice congrats. you should try satellites into larger events.. win a seat into a big tournament then see how you do there. don't get bullied around in the late rounds with big blinds

Heh... I'm in a "break" right now due to a series of bad bad beats... but your winnings have motivated me, gonna try a little S&G right now

WOW. Tonight I entered into a big satellite tournament on UltimateBet. The first prize was a $9,000 prize package to Aruba to play in the UltimateBet Aruba 2005 World Poker Tour event. The $9,000 included the $5,200 entry into the tournament and airfare and hotel for two people for up to 8 nights. I had played this tournament the two weeks prior since it runs tuesday nights and finished 2nd and then 5th.. so I was frustrated coming so close both times.

Tonight I won it.. and will be playing in the World Poker Tour event in Aruba from September 24th to October 2nd. AHHH hope I do well there Here's a screenshot of the tournament lobby:

I actually find live games to be easier than online games usually, but it really depends on the level you play. I've played 20/40 limit both live and online and the live game was much easier. I think some people go to the casino after getting off work and basically want to have fun.. they order drinks, they talk.. they play loose and generally bad. But online there are a lot more people generally trying to make a profit that are in it for the money.. but again this is only for certain limits. I havn't played too much no limit live though.. those guys seem to take it more seriously as it takes more thought process than limit.

LOL. imagine the free traffic.

too bad the World Poker Tour doesn't allow any advertising/symbols during the taping of the final table
