I'd wonder what a Christian Government actually is... does it mean all members are "Christians" - in which case, it probably is not democratic.

Does it mean it adopts beliefs from the bible? Mmmm.. there again, sounds like it probably is not democratic since others may have different views and values.

Many folks had experiences over centuries on this and they worked out what a real democracy is - I'd prefer to abide by their conclusions, - they had centuries to work them out :-)

The media seems very quick to damn 'Muslim' governemnts......but they are usually what are considered 'fundamentalists' - if we can apply that same notion to the current administrations, I guess the fundementalists would be the christians who blow up abortion clinics (That would make them terrorists by definition, no?) however imposing Christian beliefs such as opposing Gay marriage and abortion in public is un-democratic on to itself. The government is not fundamentalist in any capacity as they are driven primarily by the acquisition of wealth and furthing the empire. perhaps before condemning other nations for their beliefs, the Media should look into their own back yard. poor, poor Dan Rather......I'm sure he used to be a journalist at some point in time.....wich I could have been alive to see it....

They represent a very small majority of Christians.

Ahh...Danny boy. FYI...before the draft is ever re-instated Congress will first increase the force end levels...so that more enlistees can be accepted into the military. If it then becomes necessary to re-instate the draft...so be it. I for one think the military should never have gone to an all volunteer force...and will be pleased if the draft is re-instated.

Mmmmm.. I don't think there is any doubt that a lot of this "Christianity" stuff is little more than propaganda to serve a purpose.

Other, what can be described as "Christian nations", don't have this level of discussion on Christianity, especially confused into politics in some incestuous way. Nor do they see a need to talk about their beliefs to this extent - they are free to believe as they wish.

It's only my 2 cents worth - cos I can't answer for eg people that blow abortion clinics, - but smells very much like "Christian fundamentalists" at work doing God's work for him. I can see little difference between this and eg "Muslim fundamentalists" - they are all just as sick.

On the US front.. I ain't qualified to say, but only thru observation it is obvious certain areas/states of the US have extreme "righteous" views and have a need to claim to be sitting on God's right hand side. This is not new, but goes back to the KKK days and shit like that. Elements of the principles of KKK are still strong, tho they may (normally) not have any association with KKK and probably not related so much with race, but with religon. On race they now proclaim massive advances, which, sure there have been.

A number of these people hold high positions in government - when that happens there is going to be some confusion and discussion as we see today. There is nothing wrong with their views - they are entitled to them. It's when they end up assuming they need to be imposed on all that there may be a problem. Look at that guy - forget his name - some judge in MS - typical example. How anyone with that background ever became a judge in a democracy is beyond belief :-)

The fact that it is even a subject of discussion seems to suggest a fundamental problem. It is assumed that others don't have beliefs that are on the "right side" - especially anyone from a Middle East country - tho that's just the propaganda in action.

It's impossible to generalise tho! :-)

You should check out Canada. Our politicians blow billions of dollars on flawed programs and hook up their friends with government funds, but at least we can decide to make our own decisions, and live with the consequences.
