I won't even try to say that muslim fundementalist are good people because they are not. But the christian fundementalists, while they do some good, also do a lot of harm to the world. Do they help many countries that need food? Sure, but they do it in exchange for preaching to these people. If you want the food, you have to at least listen to them preach. Christians and the Vatician have so heavily hammered on many african nations that many of them belive that using condoms is a sin and they will go to hell. But they still are humans and human nature is to have sex. But they do so without a condom because of what they have been tought and this is one of the main reasons that AIDS is such an epidemic in many african countries.

It is ironic that he was ever re-elected when you consider what the net results of the first term were - a total disaster, with the odd rare exceptions.

The list is far too long, but includes the responsiblity for deaths of many thousands, a total disregard for any economic issues and also a load of fairly serious domestic issues that *may* just start to be addressed in his second term - tho I doubt it. If you are comparing... (what country?) to Germany, there does not appear to be any similarity because you are not attacking a nation, but a group of terrorists who operate globally and with, at least currently - no real major "HQ" in any country.

Terrorist organisations can not be compared to nations, tho some operate out of specific countries (Basques in Spain - they have never been "defeated" in around 2000 years). Osama's followers or those who follow his thinking are all over the globe and in eg the US now. It appears to be doubtful that Osama even has control over them - this is more a "belief" than any structured force.

On the flip side on the coin.. there are reasons why people become what we regard as "terrorists". Often what is one man's terrorist is the others freedom fighter. Only my 2 cents worth, but ya can't defeat terrorism my making it a major issue and engaging in bombing the shit out of "possible terrorists" and killing many 1000's of innocent people - that has nada effect. From the roots, the only way to attack/defeat them is change their perspective and reasoning for a wish to attack - and that is the much harder side and takes a lot longer to do. Conventional forces have no chance in hell with this - tho obviously useful.

People don't just wake up one day and blindly point a finger at a map and decided they are going to attack whatever nation - they have reasons and "causes".

The irony is... tho this takes literally years. It is fairly common for a terrorist org to end up with some credibilty and sit at a conference table negotiating a "peace". Time will tell.

If you are referring to Iraq and Saddam - that has literally nothing to do with any defense or security in the US. Iraq never attacked the US.
