Meeting someone from online is a HUGE wild card. You could meet the person of your dreams, or a complete fool (or worse).

My main piece of advice: Plan for a FAST date. Give yourself an easy way out, and make it clear before the date that you have to be somewhere else, even if it's not true.

The worst thing is to want to leave a date but be stuck there for hours.

The chicks I met were freaks,junkies or had way too much baggage..I gave up and stuck to meeting the freaks in the bars

She sent him pics of a pretty, petite little thing, swore to him that it was really her. So he finally agreed to her visiting for the Xmas/New Year's holiday.

She pulled up at his house, got out of the car and turned out to be this gigantic woman. He stayed in the house with her for the entire time, would not go anywhere. She wanted to go to the mall. He gave her directions and told her to go herself. lol

Thanks, she was a nice gal otherwise and we did get along, but when you have this image in your mind for months pretty cute girl and then you see the real deal and get something else all together, it was such a huge letdown I just could get into any kind of attraction.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe that people on this board don't meet girls/guys off the internet more often...I meet girls off Myspace blind all the time...after a while, you learn the "Oh shit, my buddy just called and I have to leave; no time to explain" excuse if they blatantly lied about something. Usually, IF they are honest and showed you recent pics, it will turn out better than expected...

I've been meeting girls from online...damn, over 10 years now. I've got horror stories and some really incredible relationships have come from it.

But like a lot of people here are saying, take this ONE thing to heart. No matter who she is, how amazing she is, how many custom pictures she's taken (she hasn't?) or anything else...meet her in person on a quick date, somewhere in the middle where you can both retreat if it's not right. You never know, it might not be right for her too?
