Playboy offers £100k for Big Brother couple to have sex

LONDON - Eager to get things heated up in the 'Big Brother' house this year, Climax3, the new adult channel from Playboy TV, is offering £100,000 to the first couple to have sex on the fifth series of the reality TV show, which starts this Friday on Channel 4.

Executives at Climax3 made the decision after hearing about Channel 4's attempts to spice things up in the fifth series, such as replacing the boys and girls room with a single dormitory and swapping many of the single beds for doubles.

Playboy says that the couple who have sex on 'Big Brother' this year will be invited to re-enact scenes on the Climax3 channels for £100,000.

Richard Gale, head of European marketing at Playboy, said:"Everyone has been waiting for some serious action in the 'Big Brother' house and this offer should encourage the housemates to lose their inhibitions."

Last year, The Sun newspaper offered £50,000 to the first boy-girl couple to have sex inside the 'Big Brother' house after complaining that British contestants lagged behind their foreign counterparts in the nookie stakes. Although The Sun's stunt did not work, Playboy's Gale thinks this year will be different.

"We think that this is the year that the 'Big Brother' house will come to a climax. We are in no doubt that the first sexual exploits seen on Big Brother will be something our viewers will be desperate to see," he said.

At the weekend, the identity of eight out of the 12 'Big Brother' contestants was revealed including: former asylum seeker Ahmed, 44; a bisexual woman called Emma, aged 20; and Jason, a Scottish ex-soldier who is also the hot favourite to be one of the contestants to have sex.

Channel 4 recently unveiled plans to liven up proceedings this year and is marketing the debut night of series five as 'Black Friday'. The evening's line-up also includes the last ever episode of 'Friends'.

The new house was designed by Markus Blee, who also created Gordon Ramsay's restaurant for the ITV1 reality show 'Hell's Kitchen', who was given a brief to create an "evil" house with low ceilings, little space and plenty of glass, making it impossible to hide from fellow housemates.

The newly launched Climax3 channels are available to BSkyB homes and are available on pay-per-night access. Unlike rivals, the Playboy service says it will offer access to all three channels at a cut-price deal. It is also hiring MTV-type presenters to run on channels.
