My mom used to never mow her grass and after it gets to high the city will come out with a tractor and just mawl over everything in your yard then send you a $50 bill for it and another $50 ticket

CDSmith 04-27-2004 11:04 PM

Just mow the woods and make everyone happy.

Crackhead trailer park comedy :2 cents:

newsdude 04-28-2004 12:32 AM

Quit complaining and do your share!

CamChicks 04-28-2004 12:46 AM

AFAIK (state laws vary) it is the landlords responsibility to maintain HIS property, unless you signed something to the contrary. :2 cents:

Infact, landlords can get in trouble for not maintianing rental property to a reasonable standard.

Imagine if you were in an apartment and this were any other problem; fridge dies .. front door falls off .. plumbing backs up .. roof leaks.. etc . . The apartment manager would have someone fix it.

Maybe she secretly wants to get in your panties and this is the only way she knows how to talk to you. Next time she calls ask her. Maybe you and your roommate can work out a deal and you will never have to do yardwork again. Or you can slap the wheels back on it and move it around to a clear spot.

gwilkins 04-28-2004 01:11 AM

Sounds like you need to have her get a lanscaper to put in a patch of grass so you know what to mow :thumbsup

There is no grass. Only sticks and rocks and animals and trees and wild flowers.

Can't she just cut it herself?

have kids and get sect 8 and free money/food

freeadultcontent 04-28-2004 07:21 AM

Around here they call that request fire abatement. They want you to cut back all weeds, brush, and tall material within 100 feet of your house. Trim all branches to 10 feet away from the roofs of any buildings. Remove all dead or fallen limbs within 200 feet. etc.

Yes even to people who live in the woods. Hell the woods start 20 feet behind my house. I do not own much back there and I trim the shit out of it and just send the damn vacant property owner a bill.

cool1 04-28-2004 07:26 AM

My landlord never hassles me about my grass
But he does want to smoke it with me all the time.

mpulse 04-28-2004 08:18 AM

It's easier to trim the weeds if you remove the broken down shells of the 68 ford sitting in the middle of them...or is that considered decor. Also...you could move your trailer about 10 ft, the grass/bush under should be dead, so it will look like you actually did something to the yard.

Why do I feel like I entered into a cyber Jerry Springer show?

You guys are mean. :( I'm in college. Trailors are cheap. :(

Ash@phpFX 04-28-2004 10:33 AM

its not your grass, its their grass, so if they want you to cut it, cut it

Gemini 04-28-2004 12:09 PM

Read your lease... if there is no mention of yard maintenace, call the closest zoning commission office and ask them what to do - who to talk to. SOMEone in one of those offices will know who to deal with and probably they can come out and explain to you what needs done (IF you are responsible for it)

We had one pull some BS about trees on ours... (We had crossed out tree maintenace) and the guy signed it with initials at the crossed out portions.

One tree fell and went boom... he cried but the home owners insurance HE had paid for all of it. Same as, WE cut that yard but that was it.

Get names of whomever you speak with to give the landlady if needed.

read your rental agreement.

usually it requires you to keep the property to a certain condition, including the yard.

it's a property value issue.

now get off your lazy ass and get a rake instead of whining about it on the net.

or make enough to hire some able-bodied high school kid who wants to work for a living do some cleanup.

sounds like there's a reason your home has wheels---it might have to do with your attitude.

change it, and start to prosper.

Tuna 04-28-2004 03:49 PM

i pay $20 a month and have this guy mow it for me

My home has wheels because I'm 21 years old and in college.

anyway

**UPDATE**

I bought a frat boy for $5 at a charity auction and made him tend the yard.

:thumbsup

newsdude 04-28-2004 07:15 PM
