:glugglug 50 Pornstars With Aids
|
This thread bugged me all day. Call me a prude or a non-compassionate porn pusher. (BTW, I really don?t promote hardcore). I never could understand why a male or female could fuck for money with the risks of getting AIDS or other diseases not caring about prevention but just about the money they can make.
Some say these girls get kicked out of their homes with a bus ticket to porn city capital of America. I don?t buy it unless they live in that city. Every city in the U.S., has red light districts which are not hard to get jobs and make enough money for a sleazy hotel room to call home and spend the extra dollars on whatever. Yes, I feel sorry for anyone who is HIV positive just like anyone who has cancer or another disease; however, my compassion level really drops for the people who could have prevented their illness. Sad but working in a job with no education pays you about 60 dollars a day and to fuck with strangers for four hours of work pays you 600 dollars with a lot of risks. It is their choice. Done with my rant, but people really have choices. |
lest ye walk in thy shoes then thee knoweth not what i am.
see everyone of you in hell. |

Like you, I was kicked out at a young age. No, I was not pregnant BUT I was much younger than you; I was 14. Were you homeless? I was, for months, and too young to get a job. Even when you are old enough to get a job, most places (including McDonald's) won't hire you if you don't have a phone number. You can't rent a hotel or an apartment legally when under 18 either. Some of these girls who turn 18 and start doing porn may have been hooking on the street and see porn as a step up. I know strippers who started stripping when they were underage and who knows how many were hooking (since nobody asks for ID). Keep in mind, when you're a minor you have a lot less options. Their lifestyle "choice" may have been from a survival standpoint and not their desired occupation. You don't know the individual circumstances for everyone else. You and I must both have very strong personalities to have survived through our shitty childhoods. It's wonderful that both of us have turned out so healthy, considering. But for you to act superior because you are a surviver is total bullshit. I'm a survivor too, but I'm also intelligent enough to know that even my own sisters wouldn't have been able to survive what I've lived through. |

I'm in no way trying to down anyone for doing porn, but I AM downing people that choose to fuck without a condom, knowing the risks, then tring to play the poor pitiful me game. I do believe some of these girls are there because of bad situations, but they still have the ability to choose to protect themselves. Anyone that says they didn't know any better is full of shit... and this is why I believe there should be mandatory education about condoms, testing, risks and statistics before ANYONE is allowed to do scenes without a condom. |

I'll say it once again, since you apparently neglected to read through the facts before making assumptions. I brought up the fact that I was kicked out at 17 only after someone defended these girls because they were kicked out young. I didn't bring it up to be "superior" but to merely state that it's not an excuse to go fuck guys everyday without wearing a condom. |
Let's all use a condom, have safe sex, and close this damn thread.

but the information is making headlines. just because the "below average joe" does not retain the information, does not mean it is not "big news" to mainstream. that is all i was saying. i dont care if mainstream readers care about porn, all i was saying is, as of right now, it is up in everyone's face. |
I used Detroit as an example because thats where your name says you are from, But its the same anywhere. Its Not MAKING HEADLINES, if I didnt read GFY I wouldnt no anything about and I read two newspapers a day and listen to the radio all day. No one is taking about it except for people in porn and those in LA living close to the situation.
I think whats called for here is a little perspective. The millions of children born everyday into poverty so severe they will not live beyond 13 because of malnutrition is a tragedy. The 100's of women every year that Are Forced into slavery is a tragedy. People that catch fatal dieses through no fault of there own just a shitty draw of the cards is a tragedy. The 300 children born annulay with HIV is a tragedy. 40,000 people in the US contract hiv annualy. How could you possible believe this one instance stands out in anyones mind more than the other 39,9999? |

Both you and I survived our shitty childhoods without doing porn. Is that correct? That's great for us, but just because we were able to do it does NOT make us any better than anyone who had to. I've been lucky, so have you... Without knowing the circumstances for everyone else, we cannot honestly say that we would have made different choices. I'm a stickler for safe sex and can't imagine ever having unprotected sex outside of a serious relationship. Think about all the possible "What if" scenereos. What if I were an 18 years old single mom living day-to-day in a seedy motel with a 2 year old baby to take care of, maybe I would do unprotected sex porn to have money to feed my child. I'm sure the production companies assure their talent that the testing makes them safe and most mothers would give their own lives to save their child's. Many people will also sacrifice their future lives for a better present life. |
I tried to add this but the 5 minutes allowed for editing was over:
:) Many people will also sacrifice their future lives for a better present life. Nobody expects to die. Nobody deserves to die for doing a job they were total is safe. Most porn production companies DO tell their talent that the testing will keep them safe from catching HIV. When you're young, you're much more naive and more likely to believe people. With how few HIV cases there have been in the porn community it totally makes sense that young new talent would believe what they're told. |
Michelle, your point about prevention of HIV is valid, yes.... but this issue is also about the laws of supply and demand. The demand for bareback porn has always far outweighed the demand for condom porn. Don't shoot me here, that's just the way it is, as any large porn production/distribution company would confirm.
Since bareback porn isn't going anywhere, the strict testing that should be in place really is the only line of defense the industry has. Had the people in this case been using condoms they may have saved lives, yes..... but there is also the question of who wasn't properly tested as well. I think that some strictly enforced rules need to be in place. One might be that if a performer works "bareback" once, then they have to work in "condom-only" for several weeks until they can get their next reliable test results back. Then they get the green light to work in bareback again. Those that go work in high-risk countries should be put in quarrantine upon their return home, for at least a month, after which they get..... you guessed it... TESTED. It's not the end-all be-all answer, but it is at least something. It's at least something more than what is in place now. Both production and performers need to start fucking CARING about each other (and the industry as whole), and making sure strict guidelines are enforced 100%, not just some of the time. |

Your "what if" comment. I WAS a single Mom, I wasn't living in a hotel, but the only place I could afford was a roach infested apartment building, where my son and I were the only white people. I starved so he could eat. I worked my ass off to get us out of there and didn't sell my life to do it. So, once again, my point being... everyone has choices. Everyone has to deal with the consequences... good or bad. |

And here we go again.... back to the testing issue. Quarantine for a month is NOT enough. In many cases, it takes over a month to test positive, even though it can still be transmitted to others. This is why testing is such a small piece of the solution. Testing isn't reliable... not when Joe can fuck an infected chick in March and test negative in April, May, June, July.... during all those months, he's infecting people. Back to the demand. While there is demand, of course, there are going to be people that are willing to take the risk. But with that risk and extra cash, there may be a price to pay. They need to be ready to pay the price if and when that time comes... and they do not deserve to be declared an innocent victim. |
