Jesus and Mary Chain fans?

I have been set the task of learning more about them. For some reason I never really got into but I am always willing to give bands a go even if I am late.

So, anyone a fan and can suggest songs they particuarly like?

I like their song "Never let me down" its on their first album. I'm not sure about the song title but it sounds like they are singing over a jet engine.

we seem to have some slightly similar music interests (remember Depeche Mode Thread?). I used to listen to Jesus and the Mary Chain for a while - but i cannot remember songs (despite of honeys dead). but i went to a concert of them about 10 or 12 years ago - and i remember it as the loudest concert i've ever been to. and i've seen a lot of concerts...

btw: we both have cats too - is that destiny???

lol, depends..do you shave it?

Yeah, I some how missed a lot of the details of Jesus and Mary Chain. I think that I listened to some music that I was maybe a tad too young for (or atleast I was younger than the target audience) and so I missed some bands.

Tell me you are a Cure fan too and we will get along for sure ..lol.

i tried to shave it - but she bit me

i worked as a dj at the time those bands were popular - so I listened to lots of this music. and the maxi version of "A Forest" or "Why can't I be you" from The Cure still belong to my standard repertoire.

does that mean have an appointment now?

Heard the song "Just like Honey" from the "Lost In Translation" soundtrack and downloaded it right after the movie. Good track, got me interested in hearing some more.

yeah that is where this all started. I heard it in the movie and comment to a friend that it was a good song and he went nuts about me not knowing anything else about the band.

I am 27 so when these bands (even the cure) were at their height I was a bit young but they stayed with me.

You could certainly come up and see my record collection ;) lol

I thought they only released one record when they were around, and I just recently found it -- "Psycho Candy" -- it's a great record...way ahead of its time (1986 I think)...
