There was no chance that Saddam was gonna do something stupid, he's not that crazy. Problem is that powerfull countries are left alone because they actually are a danger.

Last I checked Iraqis wheren't begging for help. Poor people in Congo are begging for help because 4 million of them have been slaughtered and nobody cares.

I never said the US went to war to defend the UN. And I don't think it's been said the US went to war for that. What I did say was that the reason we did invade Iraq was because they failed to follow the UN resolutions. And since those UN resolutions were there because of the US's involvement back in '91 it was only logical that the US would be the one's enforcing them. The UN wasn?t doing anything effective in enforcing them so we stepped in.

And I think once the US was a "Great Champion" of the UN. But over the years it has just turned to shit and serves no real purpose. It's a waste of money for the US. The UN is constantly talking about how important they are but fail to act on anything.

I agree with you. The UN did NOTHING when Iraq violated the resolutions. Action was necessary, and nothign was done. Re-organization and reassesment of the body is definately in order.

I also agree with you that people LOVE attacking the largest power in the world. It IS difficult to orchestrate a country's foreign policy with everyone out for your blood.

But is obvious our opinions differ on the other issues.

I always thought the UN has such a great potential do the world some good. But I think it's failing miserably. I agree with you they should do some reorganizing. It just seems like most people involved with it are afraid to do anything. Right or wrong, decisions should be made. But they can't even seem to make decision. It's a shame.

Wow,

First the UN resolution under the terms and conditions of surrender by Saddam were broken every single day. The U.S. had every right to go in under those resolutions, never mind the last one that was signed on to.

Second, the UN resolution that Israel is supposedly not agreeing to after being attacked from within its country and by the outside Arab countries again has never been adhered to by the Palestinians. The agreement said that all hostilities would have to cease, so unless the attacks against Israel stop, they have the right to continue on with the occupation and are technically still at war.

Third, some people just don't get it. There is a HUGE difference between killing military type people and indiscriminantly blowing up anyone in sight. Between taking as many precautions as possible while disposing of a ruthless suicide killer and accidentally harming others and between going into the first house you find and shooting a 5 year old in the head.

Fourth, Clinton and the U.S. had to go cleanup Europes back yard in the balkans because they couldn't handle it themselves withou any U.N. resolution. No one said shit then.

Last but not least my understanding of the American Civil war and many others were started for reasons other than humane acts for an oppressed people. But I'm sure there isn't an black person in the U.S. or a sane Iraqi that is not going to be happy to be as free as one can be in this world.

P.S. Israel has nukes, fantastic. We need them in place to protect our interests. Someone has to have the big gun on the block to keep things in check. Who decides who gets Nukes? the same type of people who decide whether or not I should be able to have a grenade in my house. Does it make sense for every dumb fuck to have a grenade? Nope, I don't think so.

Actually there is more than one resolution they're not adhering to. Besides, it's the occupation that started the mess.

I will say this, when a country surrenders and signs the terms and conditions of the surrender and doesn't follow them, they are still at war. The U.N. failed to enforce this, they were asked to enforce the resolutions they implemented and said no. That is the point at which the U.N. was becoming irrelevant and that is another argument.


The occupation of Palestein is a factual argument up for debate since the real Palestein was Jordan I believe and that Jews were also called Palestinians. In this context there was no occupation and the right of return means the end of Israel simply by numbers alone. There is no way Israel is giving up its country, end of story, so suicide killers are just that, killers.

There are many reasons why we invaded Iraq. And it had nothing to do with the damn French. They ran away, if you remember correctly.

And I will say that oil is one of the reasons. We do not want that resource in the hands of a madman. We would rather it be in the hands of the Iraqi people so they can use their resources to better their lives and help the world.

And BTW we do not care who they sale it too, they will probably sell it to the French again even though they didn't do shit to save them. Money is money!!

The fact is that I can't remember any information on India and Pakistan using chemical weapons on their people and they have been on the brink of Nuclear Annhilation on several occasions. They continue to have the bloodshed in Kashmir but with the new talks happening at least there is some hope of resolving the confilct. However, its not as if you can fuckup with Nuclear war like you can with conventional wars. One fuckup and everyone is up shit creek without a paddle.

I will have to agree to disagree about how the Israeli situation began but the fact remains that Israel is staying so the Palestinians are going to have to give up the Suicide Killing of Innocent people if they want Peace, no right of return. End of story.
