If you use AOL email functions WATCH OUT!

Yo, the most fucked up things are happening with AOL.

First of all, AOL customers AREN'T getting emails from certain businesses. Apparently some form of configuration or option/preferences thing.

Not only that but if you're sending a person on AOL an email and it doesn't get through you won't get the 'mailer-daemon' thingie.

What's worse is if you use 'auto aol' to send your daily emails out, you'ld better not! I just emailed a client a sexy toon attachment. Minutes later I was emailing a family member and the fucking attachment was attached to all outgoing emails! My aunt woulda hit the roof if I emailed her a cartoon of a big tit babe!

AOL's anti-spam stuff is great but something is wrong.

Ja, AOL is doing a great job especially against the dialer bullshit. So surfing and emails are protected. I think any html, hyperlinks in the email cause an automatic deletion or non receipt.

Plus, AOL members have a button to click to report spam. If it even looks like an email with spam in it they click the 'report spam' option. What may be happening is that when AOL gets a certain number of these it's an automatic across the board shut down from that email source.

A lot of ISP's have installed spam-filters which filter on sex-related words like fuck, cum, suck etc, especially for us, adult-webmasters we dont want to have e-mails containg these words (new galleries from sponsors for example) filtered...so you better turn it off if its possible yea

They are there own worst enemy right now with this vendetta of theres to fight spam. They over filter and have been doing it for a long time.

Interestingly enough I kind of like Yahoos filter set up. They don't just kill the email so its never seen but move it to a bulk folder instead. A quick scan of the bulk folder will allow you to remove the false positive. Its not perfect but why AOL doesn't leave it up to the user like that is beyond me.

I think they are just trying to keep there stance as the god of family ISPs.

Now that explains alot!

I remember when submitting galleries especially to the HUN, I wouldn't get a confirmation email. Same thing when I tried to sign up for some affiliate programs. I sat there for months waiting for a confirmation email. Same when I tried to sign up for certain websites. Wouldn't get that confirmation email. Makes me wonder how many signups are going by the boards because the customer can't get info from the webmaster.

AOL's Filters, Blocking some Spam, Blocking important Mails

Working againts their members, Do they care? No.

They complained about spam mails for 10 years, now they can complain about mails they don't get for 10 years if they expect anything to be done about it
