Why is paypal so good?

It's been months since they banned adult transactions, and 90% of adult webmasters still use paypal to buy traffic, content, designs, etc... no other system came even close, and we all know the horror stories that can happen with paypal. Shit, I can even withdraw to a bank account in Portugal and I still use it. Why is so much better than everything else?...

I still use it and haven't ever had a single problem.

Yet

Never had a problem with StormPay either, yet.

paypal is ok for low fees, but they suck for covering your ass when you buy software online,t ehy will tell you its not their problem even though the website you report for ripping you off disappears off the internet two days after you file a paypal complaint.

stormpay is damn good been with them since they opened but they have fees for adding and withdrawing funds, its like $2.00 fees to do everything.

assuredpay, I just signed up with them, not used them yet for anything or got any money to them.

solrpay seems hard up for biz, they keep spamming me saying we have lowered our fees and so on. Not used them either but have an account with them.

ecount, I still got an account with them but no one accepts them really.

Now my favorite is ePayComm.Com, I guess I am biased though since I own it hehehe. At least they give out $5.00 for signing up like paypal does but we give it instantly hehehe

Yeh I agree, but it works. They just hooked up some better features and have a Mastercard too now you can tie in.

Still I don't understand why such companies don't hire a good designer and branding service

Simply because Paypal has the money to back it up, due to their high fees on transactions.

The fees arent all that bad but I think they have a strong foot hold on the market simply because they were the first to actually take off with a system like this. Combined with papa Ebay they have a lot of power.

I haven't had a major problem with them yet. But everyone has read the horror stories.

Just wait until you do have a problem with Pay Pal then you can join the thousands of people banding together in the latest class action against them. Take a look at http://www.paypalsucks.com. Here's an example:

PayPal Sucks is an anti paypal site to expose the nightmare of doing business "the paypal way." Post your complaints, troubles, fraud stories, lawsuits, and other dissatisfaction in the forums. Read the links & faq pages for help in resolving your paypal troubles and complaints. Read the options page to find an alternative to paypal, perhaps even get yourself your own merchant account to access credit cards directly. To enumerate the complaints:

1. According to PayPal accepting their ToS (Terms of Service) in effect means you waive your rights to credit card consumer protection laws, and that you may not issue a chargeback for anything you purchase using your credit card and PayPal account that you are unsatisfied with.

Oh if you need a phone # for them this one works and is open from 6 am to 12 midnight

paypal sucks big time!
they are convinient to use but even a small problem may cause you account to be suspended! and there's almost no way for you to get your money back...I personally know some of the participants in the so called 'horror paypal stories' and believe me they are completely real!

just my 2 cents
