What exactly is this resolution? I'm confused.

You relying on Fox next King??

This UNSC resolution is a start - nice to see some compromise, but it ain't anywhere near the world bailing the US out of this fiasco with unlimited troops and money. Tis more like "perform in a time scale or fuck off".

There is gonna be some delicate political stuff ahead if the US actually has any interest in joing the world again.

Lets watch and see how this is gotta be abused next.

Joining the world in doing what......allowing terrorism to run rampant, totally unchecked and unchallenged for close to 40 years now? I say that leadership in the world means doing things that are difficult and unpopular and dragging the world kicking and screaming along with us. The UN hasn't done ANYTHING at all about terrorism, and hideous genocides that have been occuring on a constant basis since the 60s. How does the UN suddenly get a prize for being so wonderful?

When terrorism starts to drop worldwide you will start to see the world think again about what's going on. In the meantime, the goverments of the middle east and elsewhere are not going to be openly backing terrorists, like they have been, for at least as long as we hold to the present policies and troop deployments. Remember, the rogue dictatorships that abound around the world, (and for some reason are NEVER critisized on this board), will do whatever it take to stay in power, including throwing their terrorist friends to the wolves.

Joining the world to do anything.

I can't actually think of one agreement there has been with the US which stood up - choose anything from human rights to Kyoto!

Tis only when something is needed will you find any actual cooperation - ie... "we are going alone" until we get stuffed in Iraq and then run along pleading for international support.

BTW.. Need to check, but think the US is still behind on it's club membership fees to the UN - tho ya did catch up half way when you wanted UN support for the Iraqi invasion based on lies

Basically untrustworthy and no credibility!

VERY transparent and shallow!

And who, exactly, is going to pay for that? Ideological differences aside, we don't have the resources to invade and occupy another country. Iraq is costing about 4 billion a month, Afghanistan is costing another 900 million per month. It's all fine and dandy to be all gung ho about war, but in the real world, there are real considerations like, where will we get the troops to fight? Are you willing to reinstate the draft? How will we pay for another conflict, and what happens if we deploy all our troops to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria, and then encounter a problem with an actual threat nation like North Korea? Don't you think it's possible that we are spreading ourselves a little thin as it is?

Eh?? "Terrorism" has been around longer than you or I and it has not gone "totally unchecked" either.

I dunno.. but I get the impression that cause some "terrorists" hit the US mainland it all of a sudden becomes relevant. Welcome to the real world!

To put it in persective, there is less acts of "terrorism" now than in the past, but it ain't going to disappear as long as someone has a problem someplace - the US sure ain't gonna "rid the world of terrorism".

Lets dust off the nukes, bomb the fuck out of the middle east, and call it a day. If we're going to make a fucking mess out of a region why not do it the quick n easy instead of the slow n dirty.

Now I've got my own problems with Bush, but resorting to personal insults does nothing. It doesn't support your end of the debate, it doesn't make him look bad - it's just junk.

He doesn't tell lies daily. He IS the Commander In Chief, and as far as doing a christian thing in his life, I suppose getting married, going to church, cleaning up from they heyday of his youth all no longer count? Or which christians were you thinking of?

Like I said......somehow it's always GW Bush and the US that gets shit on this board. Leaders in Africa, the Middle and the far east, (et al), that are that are perpetrating outragious acts of mass murder, brutal totalitarianism, censorship, forcing starvation on their people while they live in total hedonism, war specifically directed against civilians in neighboring countries, etc, etc, etc.....
They are NEVER mentioned......meanwhile people equate Bush to Hitler on this board every day?

Does anyone on this board pay any attention at all to anything that is happening in the world? Has ANYONE got any knowledge with which to compare the USA and Bush to the horrors that are occuring daily in so much of the world? Give me a break!

The USA doesn't care about dictatorships and genocide. In fact they love those things because it usually means cheap labor for their companies. The only reason Iraq was different is because they don't do much for global commerce.

As far as throwing terrorist friends to the wolves, I really don't think that's going to stop terrorism. These people want to be martyrs anyway. They will always have the upper hand.

You are kidding, right?

Off the top of my head.....people in N Korea being starved by jung yung il

People of China being held by a brutal regime that imprisons and executes anyone who disagrees with them

People of Cuba who are totally controlled and are regularly executed for attempting to leave the country

Over 8 MILLION dead in the last 5 years in just TWO of the half a dozen genocidal mass murders occuring in Africa as we speak.

Middle Eastern countries that keep their subjects in ignorance and poverty while controling all money and power in single royal families.

Heck, the prime minister of Italy, personally OWNs 6 out of the 7 TV news stations in his country!

Even if I were to continue and include what is going on in Cambodia, Laos, and certain south american countries I would still be BARELY skimming the surface of the atrocities that are going on.....things that would cause instant and total outrage and rebellion if they occured in the US......but meanwhile BUSH is Hitler?

What about China, Brazil and most of South America? Maybe we could save alot of people by simply stopping our support of these horrendous acts simply by cutting our economic ties. That's a whole lot easier than a never ending war and wouldn't it make sense to free those people first instead of making them wait?

Oh yeah, they'll be waiting forever. If we didn't have them, we'd have to rely on *gasp* domestic labor. And *gasp* our economy might grow so we could actually AFFORD the war on terror in a few years!

This is true in some cases, but if we're going to go after anyone why not go after the bin Ladens and the Saudi royal family? Osama still has access to $30 million of the bin Laden money.

I'm not saying Bush is directly supporting terror, but he's let the most important people slide too much. Maybe he can't accept that his friends and business partners possibly have the most important information on his war.

:
What does the US do in respect to China. Any planned invasion??? It is the biggest supplier for Walmart and Americans and Canadians are very happy to pay cheap rices...

Cuba. You must be joking. The US is the only country with an embargo, with massive propaganda and supporting invasion plans. Read this about South America:

http://members.attcanada.ca/~dchris/CubaFAQ100a.html

The US has been supporting dictatorship in Central and South America, with much pleasure from United Fruit Brands.

Africa: remember Liberia... WTF are you talking about? Even the part of Funding Aids battle in the State of the Union speach is gone...Gulf is in Nigeria, abusing and even killing villagers to get the oil.
What are the US doing for Africa: ....

Middle Eastern Countries: the USA installed in Iran the Shah, which was one of the worst tyrant of the region... Saudia Arabia are maybe going to have a partial first election... Do the US opposes Saudia Arabia, or even Kuwait... US are very happy with this.

USA installed in:

Chile : Pinochet
Nicaragua: Somoza
Panama: Noriega

Invaded in a "pre-emptive" operation: Grenada....

America, as it has been stated a=often, has no allies but a political and economical agenda: they do what is profitable for them, that's all.

So stop pretending to be the defenser of liberties and virtues.

Now I've got my own problems with Bush, but resorting to personal insults does nothing.
I hear you Carrie!

It does not matter who is President, or for that matter any other leader. We will always find fault with them either way! I am inclined to give anyone the benefit of doubt a few times over before insulting them :-)

In the instance of Bush, I sat and watched this "half elected" person stand up in one of his rare speeches 10 days after election time and, within 90 seconds, dismiss/reverse almost all promises on which he was "half elected". I thought then... mmm, we have a problem here, and since that day almost every single thing I predicted has come true.

Bush is not a credible man - he is, in fact a very dishonest man who would, in many other western countries, be sitting in a jail cell serving time for fraud re his previous failed business ventures.

His only hope of support is to cloak himself as a "Commander-In-Chief" (which again it a total absurdity when you glance at this person's service record!) and "rally the people around" to "defend the homeland". Domestically, I can't think of one thing this "president" has done for the US - nevermind looking at the damage he has caused to the US both domestically and worldwide. He is a total phoney who would have nada chance of being the leader of any other western country.

This morning he is off to Asia... with his usual "warnings" to China to reduced their currency because the US can't match it's value and "threats" to Japan to sort their markets out - once again because it is not in keeping with his "doctrine". Do they give a shit? I doubt it! It is little surprise the Secret Service are not allowing him more than a couple of hours in any country - there is indeed, a reasonable chance he would get a bullet in the brain.

He is due in November to visit his partner, the UK - that may, or may not happen, since members of the govt there are saying, "Hell, that's the last thing we need here!" I know damned well the Secret Service need to cover his ass in the UK as well - once again, there is a good chance of that bullet.

This is a totally untrustworthy man who DOES lie/decieve on a daily basis and is disliked for his stupidity, arrogance and lack of any qualifications the world over. He may, or may not, have conned you, - but he has not conned the rest of the world. They know the US Admin *very well* by now

I look forward to the day the US has a President - there are plenty more qualified and honest people there! This has nothing to do with petty political leanings - it is more important than crap.

The behaviour there is one fucking disgrace! It is no different to that of any "terrorist network".

Setting aside the deaths in Iraq today, there were quite a few, for example, in Boliva today due to US interference and support of a very crooked govt by another very crooked govt!

Tis sad when some proclaim to be on the side of the righteous standing on some moral high ground - makes me listening to it :-)

Although I wish they would have told us to fuck off and let a few hundred more of our kids die before we tucked tail and had to retreat.

Now this will allow Bush to claim some sort of victory after the evil evil UN cleans up the mess. Hooray for America. Wave your flags faggots.

If the sentiment of this board is indicative of world view and we are speaking of Nazi's I can sit here at work and thank god that we are only handling a bunch of rag heads hell bent on blowing themselves up along with others because if we had to handle something as monumental as the Nazis and WW2 we would fail miserably!!! That one was best left to our Grand parents and the back bone they displayed across the world, god willing we will NEVER have to face a task as daunting ourselves and live with the failure of us. IMHO of course

Which single country do you think pays up to 25% of the enitre budget of the UN and its missions.
