Football stars accused of rape
A teenager has reportedly accused several Premiership footballers of raping her.
Scotland Yard confirmed it was investigating an allegation of rape by a 17-year-old girl, but refused to comment further. The Sun newspaper claimed the girl had accused seven Premiership footballers from an unnamed club of raping her in a London hotel at the weekend. She said she consented to sex with another player - from a different team - and then the seven forced themselves on her, the paper says. We can confirm that the Metropolitan Police Service have received an allegation of rape from a 17-year-old female Scotland Yard spokesman Her claims are now being investigated by detectives on Operation Sapphire, the Metropolitan Police's task force to tackle sex crimes the story |
