We have been reading a few of the general rules of Movie Posts. It seems that any video that is a mb is considered a long video. So instead of seeing a few minutes of one we are getting a few seconds from same video because the cost of bandwidth. We were wonderring about what formats are acceptable i assume though it is all mpeg only. we were using windows media player format .wmf in our members but will stick to .mgp for now. We are capturing our movies at 320x240 and wondering what is acceptable file sizes? what resolution? movie lengths? what are post webmasters expecting 10 seconds? 30 seconds? We have plenty of encoders editing software etc. we just need to know what we should do with it.

We have about 5-6 gigs we are currently editing from about 4 tapes and thinking about streaming options as well or are we best sticking to short downloads to members.

Clips should be over 1 meg. Clips should be at least 12 - 18 seconds. If you want higher listings then make them in mpeg. I do consultant work as well on the side.

15 seconds gives me 2.5mb would you try reduce this further if we post with that how many a page 6?

You better make damn sure that the site's gonna sell...prepare to burn some serious bandwidth. Anti-Hotlinking should be your first priority.

Reduce quality till the clips are no bigger than 2 megs. Each gallery should have about 3 clips each.

You don't need that damn anti hotlinking script. Just ask your host for some type of protection. There are ways to pass a cookie on reference to a right hand mouse click save as.

I hope that made sense with the cookie part. LOL

My videos will be watermarked advertising my site. I have posted videos before with adultlock.com i know about the mass traffic i used to burn 10 gigs every day just never really made em myself before and wanted an idea of what is the go these days i been out of biz a while was hoping to hear more welcomed formats..

You guys are silly. Why big movies? Don't forget to mention small movies. Anyway, big movies is one way of doing it. But what about the tons of webmasters making a killing on small movies (7-10 seconds each).

Lock, big movies are fine are if you plan to submit to sites that accept big movies. There's a handful of great reputable sites that accept them; vidsvidsvids.com, fuckingfreemovies.com, etc.

Then there's the movies sites that prefer small movies on galleries; video-post.com (i believe), onlymovies.com, etc. Keep in the mind that with small movies, you can also get listed on regular TGP's as well. Don't just limit yourself to posting on movie sites. Most TGP's from what i understand won't accept big movies. But don't quote me on that, each are different with their rules.

The key is to try both types of movie galleries and see which you do better with. Some people are great at 3 huge movies on galleries, while others prefer 6-8 small movies on galleries.

If you submit movie galleries you will burn 50-150gigs/day

And yes you should submit small movies to all those who accept small and then submit big ones to those who only accept big ones. Try and track each one seperately.

MPEG is the only way to go if you are serious.

WMV will get you mediocre listings on 50% of the tgps/mgps
MPEG will get you good listings on most of them.

Also you should be able to get 30 seconds and 2mb and still have HQ movies.

I used to crash ibsex servers when i was running em using like 10 movies posting over and over i have seen the power of movie posts. 10 gig was my everyday traffic is an understatement for movies but it is believable for skeptical GFY members.

Right now i have 4 gig of original movies see how many clips i got here i think i might go all out on posting see if i cant crash the server daily again for old times sakes..
