Most of our chargebacks are do to stolen cards and fraudulant webmasters. soon we will have a place to report them and we will weed them out one by one.

I'm going to give you guys an example of what is being done out there and its very hard to catch the fraudulant webmasters unless you watch your stats closely.
I don't want to reveal how we catch them here but programs need to have a meeting and work together to put a stop to it.
maybe make a board where we can all post the cheaters and then each sponsor can check and monitor that acount if they are in there system.

from what I here thru the grape vine is these guys put up fake pay sites. the surfer goes and tries to join, they put all ther info in and when its done they are not excepted because there card was bad etc.

then they have all the info with the CC and then they run it thru everyones system. so the surfer gets the bill and charges back.

these guys can run one card thru 10 programs and make like $300 of each one. we credit them and payout and don't realize it till the next month when all there cards start chargeing back

by the time you catch them they have a new front and go thru another 10 programs. etc.
just imagine how many programs are out there and how many surfers they can scam. we need to put an end to it and work together.

and normally they don't just have one acount with you they have multiple acounts and only get like 1-4 sales thru each one daily.
so its hard to catch they don't hit you with all at once under one acount. etc

what do you propose can be done to rectify this matter?

also if people know or hear of someone doing it, it needs to be posted on the board.

watch sites out there if something looks fishy it probably is.

kinda hard to catch them before they hit your system up because we would have to join sites to see which ones are fake fronts.

the best thing for us to do is stick together and communicate more to put a stop to it. every program has there own way of flaging fraudulant acounts. now we need to help each other.

some programs might not have the advanced stats to do this but at least we can do the work for some and help eachother. using a board or something for programs.
and there are many types of programs out there not just PPS
if there is a program there is webmasters who have figured out a way to scam it. like anything else

dont automatically activate webmasters. go through them personally for activation. dont allow multiple accounts.

shit you could even pay us a bit more per signup, but hit us with chargebacks and take the money back. then those "decieving' webmasters will have to change their practices.... let alone that the cheaters will have to just plain stop.

you need to also put something in your terms that the privacy policy is void to all cheaters, then programs can mail each other cheaters names, then the new programs can let them join at their own discretion.

that's not a bad idea however, other webmasters may not want to make available that their site is an easy target for fraud. by posting that information, even on a board for other webmasters to read, may give accessible information to a regular surfer or others who make a living at fraud.

a few years ago i use to post a dead beat page on a couple of paysites i have. the posted would be the persons name, what they used to sign up with (not an account number or anything like that; just cc or ck) and city and state. once this page was up, the fraud lightened up substantially and to this day, i get people calling wanting to pay off their debt. i actually got the idea from one of the bigger affiliate sites and a phone sex site that handeled massive fraud transactions.

like i said it's not a bad idea, however giving that info to other, unethical webmasters and possible surfers may turn a good idea bad. you're on the right track with that idea...it just needs to be tuned in a way that will protect us honest webmasters.

Sounds good but you run into many other problems by not activating everyone. they give you a domain to go buy so its hard to see who is scamming up front.

the chargebacks normally don't happen till a month or 2 later.
by then they have already made there money and moved on to the next program. then they hit you up at a later date under another name.

most of the time when someone is cheating us the number and email are bogus but its hard to catch till you flag them.

we can call the number first but that would be many many phone calls etc.

I totally agree we touched on it in the epoch meeting and I'm sure we will figure out a way to do it. without affecting the good guys.

it would just be a place to give other programs a heads up. it would be up to them wether to shut them off or not.
at least this would give us a head start on flaging a fraudulant webmaster to monitor there acount.

our stats and our acountants do a great job on flaging these webmasters maybe thats why we are way under 1% who knows but we all need to work together

working together i totally agree on. however, it's knowing who you can trust in this biz that will make it tough and even those you can trust can turn on you faster then a rabid dog.

think of the sheer privacy a surfer would have!

im not sure if anyone touched this idea, but coming up with an adult credit card would be the ultimate way to go. im pretty sure banks wont touch this idea but it would severely decrease fraud and cb's for the only reason the card would be used is to purchase porn and from a basic accounting standard, im sure it would be easier to see where your major source of earnings is derived (for cc companies). again, that is just an idea i am sure no one will back.

that idea has been done kinda with pre-paid cards the problem is getting those cards to surfers.

its all an impluse buy like most things and the reason it works is because everyone has a visa or mastercard in ther pocket.

not to many people are going to get an adult card

i think i may have thought of a way to red flag alot of accounts for fraud but im afraid to say it in here cuz then the frauders will see lol...
