I once had the same 48 hour problem ... with RackShack ... just hang in their live support room ... and every 15 minutes post ...

NOW 24 HOURS 45 MINUTES for support request ...

both times I needed to do this were ...

"NIC" conflicts and "IP THEFT" ... by "gurus" including ranges of IP's in there config files ... which interfered with mine ...

I am not a tech guru but I have had no problems with RS for quite some time now ...

Eventually they just shut down all the offending servers until mine was working ..

Dad@

You sure you didn't have server problems because you had nude pictures of minors on your site?

Just to throw a spanner in the works, a few isolated tests work fine at full speed (see the spikes), but apart from that it's like a 1.2Mbit/sec outbound cap.

i could help you tweek out your configuration files.. my tgp server would lag out over 1.5 mbps to.. there's a few settings to switch up and shit halls ass again

try..

MaxKeepAliveRequests 0
KeepAliveTimeout 5
MinSpareServers 20
MaxSpareServers 75
StartServers 20
MaxClients 250
BindAddress *

NameVirtualHost 209.249.6.46(your ips)
NameVirtualHost 209.249.6.45

that made mine go alot faster

cash69 - thanks for the tips, but I don't think that was the issue. My server was happily spiking up to 4Mbit/sec in previous days with my MRTG graphs showing a nice rollercoaster shape, plus I hadn't even touched the server for a couple of days when the dreaded 'flat ceiling' started. Server load was normal (0.50), and a reboot didn't change anything. My previous rackshack server was the same config (hardware and software) and never saw this problem.

Do you still have the server?

i did see this happen alot the last time, check your log files.

if they are > 2 gig, this happens too. did have the same problems.

... what does "mii-tool" (runned as root) say?

I don't have the server any more, I cancelled it over a month ago. I just got my refund.

BTW - even though it was doing some heavy image serving, it was logging to /dev/null
